Location: Hybrid, Pittsburgh - 3 days on-site / 2 remoteJob Type: Full Time / PermanentWork Authorization: No C2C or Sponsorship

 

The A.C.Coy company has an immediate opening for a Payroll Analyst - Multi-state. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of payroll administration or analyst experience working with multiple states across the U.S. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of multi-state payrolls by verifying time and attendance records, reviewing and processing payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary adjustments, and ensuring accurate calculations of gross pay, overtime, deductions, taxes, and benefits
  • Maintain accurate and complete payroll records while ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies
  • Prepare, reconcile, and distribute payroll reports and data feeds to internal stakeholders, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and proper formatting
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including tax withholding requirements, wage and hour laws, and company policies
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, record inconsistencies, and employee inquiries related to payroll payments, deductions, taxes, and year-end tax documents
  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources, Accounting, Benefits, and other departments to resolve payroll issues and ensure accurate employee data management
  • Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation and reports as needed
  • Participate in year-end payroll activities, including payroll reconciliations and preparation of W-2 forms and other required tax reporting
  • Assist with the administration, testing, enhancement, and implementation of payroll systems, upgrades, and process improvements
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiencies
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Certified Payroll Professional is a plus

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of payroll experience as an administrator or analyst in a multi-state environment
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll processes, payroll taxation, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements for multi-state and multi-jurisdictional payroll environments
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee information with the highest degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion
