It’s a great fit for someone who thrives on precision and problem-solving, and who wants to grow their career within a collaborative, multi-country payroll tax function.
We will count on you to:
- Process US and Canadian tax payments accurately and on time, and reconcile Federal, State/Local, and Provincial tax authorities using Workday and ADP SmartCompliance, including monthly, quarterly, and annual SUI and wage data files
- Prepare, process, and reconcile annual withholding returns (W-2, T-4, RL-1) by due dates, correcting errors and filing amended returns as needed; research out-of-balances and present findings to Sr. Payroll Tax Analysts
- Upload and resolve import errors in tax preparation software, and manage reconciliation and returns for less complex local tax jurisdictions
- Research and respond to tax agency notices and payroll tax inquiries, ranging from routine to complex
- Support special projects such as M&A, divestments, audits, and W-2/W-2c balancing, plus set up of new tax locations and compliance reporting (DOL, Multiple Worksite, BLS)
- Maintain Workday tax data (tables, rates, location codes, jurisdictions) in sync with ADP SmartCompliance, including W-2/W-2c updates and tax balance adjustments
- Keep Payroll Tax SOPs current, ensure day-to-day maintenance via maker/checker and ServiceNow, and escalate issues to North America Payroll Tax Manager/Analysts as needed
- Maintain organized, consistent workflows and folder structures across the team
- Track SLAs through the case management system and collaborate across HR Services to meet or exceed service standards
What you need to have:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 0-2 years of payroll tax experience
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of payroll tax rules and regulations
- Strong customer service mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Solid problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills in a Windows-based environment and proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
What makes you stand out?
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in a corporate environment
- Prior payroll tax experience
- Familiarity with Workday and ADP SmartCompliance or similar systems
