The GIC Supply Chain team manages end-to-end operations, encompassing planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and analytics. They strategically plan to meet market demands, optimize sourcing, ensure efficient production, and oversee the seamless movement of goods from production to delivery. The team employs advanced analytics and digital solutions throughout these processes, fostering adaptability and operational excellence. This collaborative approach ensures a well-coordinated supply chain that aligns with both organizational goals and dynamic market conditions.
Purpose of the role
General Mills is accelerating the Digital Transformation of our Supply Chain. This transformation will be a key enabler for our Supply Chain and business strategies while providing a competitive advantage to our business. Our vision for Supply Chain Intelligent Execution (IE) is to bring together people, process, and technology with access to real-time information, so that they can more quickly make better, more end-to-end decisions. Over time, this will enable us to automate key executional decisions.
The Data Governance/Ecosystem Product Owner is focused on leading the Data Governance team, inclusive of ecosystem data, to advance our governance and quality processes and ensure data is fit for use in Supply Chain. This leader will partner with Supply Chain Pillar Leaders to develop plans and enable the advancement of Data Governance. Additionally, the enablement of bi-directional data flow with our external partners will optimize collaboration across organizations and enhance our ability to develop an end-to-end digital supply chain. The role will also partner closely with Digital & Technology resources to actively manage Governance metrics in Pillar RUN meetings, represent governance work in Transform and Improve projects, and support strategic Supply Chain MillsWorks pods.

Key Accountabilities
- Advance the deployment of Data Governance and Ecosystem efforts across Supply Chain Pillars and MillsWorks initiatives.
- Serve as a primary business-facing leader for Data Governance and Ecosystem, building strong relationships with business leaders and internal teams.
- Drive alignment of strategy, business priorities, and technical solutions across Supply Chain, Business, and Digital & Technology teams.
- Develop, define, and communicate an aligned Data Governance and Ecosystem roadmap that delivers business value.
- Lead business discovery and continuously define, refine, and translate requirements into practical tools, processes, and solutions.
- Manage and prioritize team capacity, backlog, and work plans, including recommendations and trade-off discussions to deliver against the roadmap.
- Develop, track, and maintain critical Data Governance metrics within Supply Chain RUN meetings.
- Partner with Digital & Technology teams to provide support, guidance, and effective deployment of technical resources
- Lead the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies to advance team capabilities, driving implementation with agility, confidence, and clear business value.
- Achieve and sustain Data Governance and Data Quality targets through ways of working and process improvements.
- Coach and mentor Supply Chain Data Stewards to strengthen capability, ownership, and leadership across pillars and projects.
- Lead process improvements for the Data Steward team while fostering a strong team culture, healthy workload pace, and cross-team collaboration.
- Work with the Data Governance Lead to continuously improve team maturity and overall effectiveness.
- Set and deliver quarterly OKRs aligned to roadmap priorities and business outcomes for both Data Governance and Ecosystem.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelor's
- Minimum years of related experience required: 7+ years.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proven project management skills
- Experience working with third parties and global partners.
- Ability to lead & influence others to drive results without direct reporting relationships
- Proven track record of strong collaboration skills across broad perspectives and enterprise implications
- Thrives in ambiguity and times of significant change
- Supply Chain knowledge supporting multiple functions
- Experience partnering with D&T organization.
- Successful change management background
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred Major Area of Study: Supply Chain Management, Information Technology
- Preferred Professional Certifications: PMP, Any other Project management certification.
- Experience and curiosity working with advanced technologies (Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing).
- Strong active listening skills and ability to build trust quickly in a global, virtual environment
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and enable collaborative decision-making
- Strong experience anticipating and preparing to respond to changes in the business environment
- Data Governance knowledge and background.
- Experience working in an Agile development framework
