WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:


We are seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join our Portfolio Analytics team. This role offers hands-on experience in venture capital, working with complex investment and portfolio data that supports decision-making across the firm. The successful candidate will contribute to portfolio reporting, data quality, investment tracking, and strategic initiatives while collaborating with teams across Ventures, Marketing, Sales, Legal, etc.

Job Duties:

  • Generate analytical reports and dashboards using Plug and Play's portfolio and investment data.
  • Build and maintain Google Sheets and Excel models using advanced formulas and data manipulation techniques.
  • Maintain the quality and accuracy of portfolio data across internal systems, including reconciling data across sources and flagging discrepancies.
  • Support internal stakeholders by providing portfolio and market data for strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare and validate data submitted to external databases and publications, including PitchBook, Crunchbase, TIME, and other industry platforms.
  • Automate and improve reporting workflows using SQL, VBA, AI tools (e.g., Claude), or other technologies where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on custom analyses, data requests, and firm-wide initiatives.
  • Support ad hoc administrative needs as they arise.


The ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Ability to understand complex datasets, identify trends, and communicate insights effectively.
  • Highly proficient with Google Sheets/Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis. Experience with SQL, VBA, AI tools is a plus (e.g. Claude).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Independent, curious, and eager to work in a fast-paced environment.
