Overview
The Pricing Analyst will support Edgewater’s proposal pricing and contract pricing activities while participating as part of the broader capture and proposal process. This position will help build, update, and quality check pricing workbooks; gather and organize cost inputs; support pricing analysis; and maintain documentation for proposal submissions, task orders, contract modifications, and other pricing requests. The role will also provide exposure to capture strategy, proposal development, solicitation review, competitive intelligence, pricing strategy, price-to-win analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with Capture, Proposal, Operations, Contracts, and Finance teams. The role is intended for someone who is eager to learn federal government contracting pricing while growing within the Pricing team.
The position will be performed within a hybrid environment. However, candidates will only be considered within the Washington, DC metropolitan area and must be able to work on-site in either Reston, VA or Frederick, MD when requested.
Responsibilities
- Run, update, and quality check pricing workbooks in support of proposals, task orders, contract modifications, recompetes, and other pricing requests.
- Assist with developing and maintaining pricing models that support compliant, accurate, and competitive proposal submissions.
- Gather and organize cost inputs, including labor, subcontractor, consultant, travel, other direct cost, indirect rate, escalation, and fee assumptions.
- Review pricing outputs for accuracy, consistency, formula integrity, and completeness before review by senior Pricing, Finance, Capture, or Operations team members.
- Prepare and maintain pricing backup documentation, assumptions, cost narratives, and supporting files for proposal and contract records.
- Support pricing strategy and price-to-win analysis by helping research market conditions, incumbent information, historical pricing, customer budget considerations, and competitive positioning.
- Support analysis of labor categories, rates, contract types, pricing instructions, and solicitation requirements.
- Participate in the capture and proposal process by supporting solicitation reviews, strategy discussions, proposal planning, pricing assumptions, and cross-functional proposal inputs.
- Coordinate with Capture, Proposal, Finance, Contracts, Operations, and Program Management personnel to collect pricing inputs and resolve pricing questions.
- Learn and apply Edgewater’s pricing processes, government contracting requirements, and proposal pricing best practices while taking on increasing responsibility over time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
- Prior internship, coursework, or limited professional experience in pricing, finance, accounting, proposal support, or government contracting is helpful but not required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and willingness to work extensively with pricing models, financial workbooks, formulas, and data sets.
- High attention to detail with the ability to check pricing work for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with instructions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a desire to understand pricing assumptions, cost drivers, rate structures, and competitive pricing considerations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work with Pricing, Finance, Capture, Proposal, Contracts, Operations, and Program Management personnel.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize pricing assumptions and financial information in a simple and organized way.
- Interest in learning federal proposal pricing, contract types, labor categories, indirect rates, compliance requirements, and government contracting business practices.
Salary: $70.000 - $80,000
