You will play a critical role in enabling secure, scalable, high-performance data infrastructure that supports teams across the organisation to develop trusted, reusable data products. Operating at the intersection of data engineering, architecture, and strategy, you will help unlock the value of data to drive clinical, operational, and commercial outcomes across a complex healthcare environment. This is a high-impact position with strong visibility across executive, operational, and technical stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
You will lead the design, development and continuous improvement of our enterprise data platform, ensuring it supports high-quality, governed and AI-ready data products.
Key accountabilities include:
- Design and implement scalable data products, including curated analytical datasets (silver/gold layers) and retrieval-ready data stores.
- Build and optimise data pipelines (ELT/ETL), ensuring automation, performance and reliability.
- Develop semantic and AI-ready data capabilities, including knowledge graphs and vector/embedding stores.
- Drive data quality, trust and governance through automated controls and frameworks.
- Partner with business and clinical stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions.
- Lead and uplift technical standards, architecture practices and engineering quality across the team.
- Contribute to data modelling, architecture design and end-to-end solution development.
- Work cross-functionally in agile teams to deliver incremental value in a fast-moving environment.
- Provide clear technical documentation and communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
You are an experienced data engineering leader with deep technical expertise and a strong track record of delivering modern cloud-based data platforms at scale, including:
- Extensive experience in data engineering and cloud data architecture (lakehouse/medallion models).
- Strong expertise in building scalable data platforms, pipelines (ETL/ELT), and data integration solutions.
- Proven ability to design and deliver data products, including curated datasets and AI/ML-ready data structures.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data structures and enterprise data architecture.
- Experience implementing data quality, governance and reliability frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), ideally with strong exposure to GCP (BigQuery, Data Catalog, AI/Agent tools).
- Strong leadership capability, with experience guiding technical teams and setting engineering standards.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence from executive level through to operational teams.
- Strong analytical thinking, systems design capability and ability to document complex technical solutions clearly.
- Experience in healthcare or complex regulated environments (highly regarded).
What We Offer
- Access to a corporate benefits program offering discounts and privileges across leading national and global brands.
- A competitive remuneration package aligned to your experience, supported by a comprehensive range of benefits that promote flexibility, wellbeing and work–life balance.
- Flexible working arrangements to support balance and performance, including hybrid working options where appropriate and role-dependent flexibility in how you structure your week.
