Procurement Manager – Data Center Construction Projects
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to support large-scale, mission-critical data center projects in Chile. This role will be embedded within a high-performance project delivery environment, partnering closely with a global technology client to drive best-in-class procurement strategies, supply chain optimization, and commercial outcomes across complex capital projects.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in procurement for construction and infrastructure programs, ideally within data centers, industrial, or high-tech environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities for major data center construction projects, including sourcing strategy, tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Develop and implement procurement plans aligned with project timelines, budgets, and client objectives.
- Manage RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluations, and vendor selection processes ensuring compliance, competitiveness, and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with project management, cost management, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of procurement deliverables.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Support contract administration, including change management, claims management, and commercial negotiations.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, supply chain efficiencies, and value engineering initiatives.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal governance, client requirements, and local Chilean regulations.
- Track procurement performance metrics and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
- Mitigate supply chain risks, including schedule delays, market volatility, and logistics constraints.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on construction, infrastructure, or data center projects.
- Proven experience working on large-scale, fast-paced, and high-value capital programs.
- Solid understanding of contract forms (e.g., EPC, EPCM, FIDIC, or similar).
- Experience working in a client-facing or consultancy environment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Chilean procurement practices, supplier market, and regulatory environment.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, multicultural, and collaborative environment.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
