Product Data Specialist
Position Summary:
The Product Data Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the organization's product data infrastructure by ensuring product information is accurate, complete, and synchronized across internal systems and external channels. Through data governance, product lifecycle management, Bill of Materials (BOM) administration, and cross-functional collaboration, this position enables efficient operations, supports manufacturing and sales, and contributes to the successful launch and maintenance of the company's product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in New SKU Creations:
- Create, manage, and maintain accurate product data in Product Information Management (PIM) system, ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite), and other internal databases.
- Review and validate product data, including specifications, descriptions, images, fitment, attributes, etc.
- Monitor and ensure data consistency across internal systems and external customer platforms (e.g., KI website, DKS, MKC, etc.).
- Identify and align interchangeable SKUs into logical product families based on technical attributes.
Image & Media Management:
- Upload and format product images, ensuring that they meet quality standards.
Salesforce Case Management:
- Manage SF image and new product requests that come through.
Continued Product Management: Review and validate product data, including specifications, descriptions, images, fitment, attributes, etc.
- Manage the Product Updates channel in Teams.
- Conduct routine audits to identify and correct incomplete, inconsistent, or inaccurate data.
SKU Deactivations:
- BOM evaluation, inventory adjustments, open POs, clear bin locations, deactivate in Korber, confirm removal in BC.
- Manage Deactivation spreadsheet.
Bill of Materials (BOM) Creation & Edits:
- Creation of a BOM for a new product.
- Edits to support changes needed for production (Requests sent through the Oopsies Channel in Teams).
Bill of Materials (BOM) Validation:
- Correct improper formatting of revision titles.
- Update incorrect or inactive components.
- Finalize and complete incomplete BOMs.
- Process requests sent through the Oopsies channel.
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to system improvements, data migrations, or product launches.
