Overview:
With data being the fuel that drives our future, our strategies, policies, and business successes around data will define Visa's future growth. Unlocking value through trusted, innovative use of data on behalf of consumers, businesses, and communities is central to our success. Guided by Visa's Data Values and commitment to the responsible use of data, the Global Data Office (GDO) is leading the evolution of Visa's enterprise data capabilities to accelerate business growth and innovation.
Led by Visa's Chief Data Officer, the Global Data Office drives high-impact, enterprise-wide initiatives spanning data strategy, critical investments, platform modernization, and marketplace execution. Working closely with technology, product, operations, risk, compliance, and business teams across Visa's global organization, GDO is focused on building scalable data products and governance frameworks that enable trusted, actionable, and reusable data assets across the enterprise.
We are seeking a Manager, Data Governance Platform to support Visa's Data Governance Platform within the Global Data Office. This role will be responsible for driving the strategy, roadmap, delivery, and adoption of enterprise data governance capabilities, including data catalog, metadata management, data lineage, data quality, access management, and stewardship solutions. The Manager will partner closely with engineering, architecture, data domain teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable platform capabilities that improve data discoverability, trust, accessibility, compliance, and operational efficiency across Visa's data ecosystem.
The ideal candidate combines strong product management, data management, and platform delivery experience with the ability to translate business needs into scalable governance platform capabilities that drive measurable business outcomes.
All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to leverage emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to improve governance processes, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Data Governance Platform capabilities, including data catalog, metadata management, lineage, data quality, access management, and stewardship solutions.
Gather, analyze, and translate stakeholder requirements into well-defined product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans.
Own and prioritize the platform backlog, balancing business value, regulatory requirements, technical dependencies, customer needs, and platform scalability.
Partner closely with engineering and architecture teams to design and deliver capabilities that improve data discovery, understanding, trust, access, and reuse across the enterprise.
Drive implementation and adoption of enterprise governance platform capabilities, including business glossary, metadata management, technical metadata harvesting, lineage, certification, and stewardship workflows.
Lead delivery of data quality capabilities, including profiling, rule management, monitoring, scorecards, exception management, and remediation workflows.
Define and enhance access management capabilities that enable streamlined data onboarding, entitlement management, approvals, and user self-service experiences.
Collaborate with business data owners, stewards, and technology teams to identify platform enhancement opportunities and prioritize investments based on business value and user needs.
Drive Agile product development processes, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, release management, user acceptance testing, and production readiness.
Define platform KPIs and success metrics, including adoption, metadata coverage, lineage completeness, data quality improvements, user engagement, and operational efficiency.
Monitor platform performance and customer feedback to identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and continuous improvement.
Communicate roadmap priorities, delivery progress, risks, and business outcomes to leadership and key stakeholders.
Support platform launch activities, onboarding programs, training initiatives, and change management efforts to accelerate adoption across Visa.
Evaluate emerging technologies, AI-enabled governance capabilities, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and platform modernization.
Build strong partnerships across Global Data Office, technology, security, engineering, analytics, and business organizations to drive successful platform adoption and delivery outcomes.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
