Purpose of the Role

The Product and Pricing Analyst acts as a strategic bridge between data-driven risk assessment and commercial execution. This role is responsible for driving product profitability and market competitiveness by conducting technical pricing reviews, automating financial models, and leading data collaborations. By translating complex claims and market trends into actionable pricing strategies and clear communication, the analyst empowers cross-functional teams and insurers to optimize product performance within a fast-paced, multicultural environment.


Responsibilities

Individual & SME Pricing Structuring

  • Structure pricing frameworks specifically for individual and SME accounts.
  • Manage standard product rate books and execute annual product revamps.
  • Analyze demographic, premium, and claims data to optimize technical performance.
  • Model future risk using scenario analysis, medical inflation, and market dynamics.
  • Align structured pricing with sales, product, and corporate commercial objectives.


Process Revamping & Automation

  • Revamp pricing workflows to increase operational efficiency.
  • Develop automated pricing models, Excel-based quote engines, and premium tables.
  • Design standardized product analysis templates for scalable team use.
  • Partner with data teams to build automated reporting dashboards.
  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and new processes to secure knowledge retention.


Stakeholder Collaboration & Negotiation

  • Negotiations with insurers regarding structured pricing, plan designs, and renewals.
  • Communicate complex analysis results clearly to cross-functional sales and management teams.
  • Provide actionable, data-backed recommendations to support executive business strategies.


Market Intelligence & Portfolio Projects

  • Support strategic projects including portfolio transfers and new business assessments.


Requirements:


  • Ability to structure insurance pricing models and underwriting frameworks.
  • Experience automating processes.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency for building flexible quote engines. Interested in programming.
  • Strong numerical analysis capabilities using claims, risk, and benchmark data.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with a clear focus on driving operational efficiency.
  • Fluent English communication and good cross-functional negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing fast-paced portfolio changes.
  • Collaborative nature, able to thrive alongside multicultural sales and data teams
