Job Description

  • Full-time, Ongoing position at Academic Level E.
  • Parramatta City campus with flexible working arrangements.
  • Salary: $230,375 – $238,446 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.


Lead teaching and research in technology and analytics for a rapidly evolving digital economy.


The Opportunity

Western Sydney University Business School is seeking a Professor in Business Analytics and AI Management to join the Business Technology and Analytics Discipline. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an AACSB-accredited Business School committed to excellence in teaching, research, industry engagement and societal impact.

The Business Technology and Analytics Discipline is a dynamic, forward-looking academic team undertaking applied and impactful research examining how artificial intelligence, business analytics and digital technologies enable novel operating models, capabilities and innovation to transform organisations, decision-making and work.

You will join the Business Technology and Analytics Discipline as an academic leader with a strong record in teaching, research and external engagement. In this role, you will strengthen the WSU Business School’s capability in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, and Responsible and Ethical AI applications in diverse organisational contexts.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Maintain a national and international reputation for academic excellence in research and education.
  • Lead innovative curriculum designs and best-practice approaches to provide transformational learning experiences for students.
  • Establish productive relationships with external bodies that enhance the national and international standing of the Discipline.
  • Lead strategic initiatives while fostering a collaborative and inclusive academic culture in the WSU Business School.

About You

You will be a well-rounded scholar with an internationally recognised research profile and a demonstrated reputation as an educator.

  • A PhD in Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence Management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and learning design across undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs delivering high-quality, innovative learning experiences.
  • An established international research reputation evidenced by high quality publications, including publications in ABDC A* ranked journals or leading journals in your field.
  • Evidence of success in securing competitive external research funding.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with industry, government, professional bodies, communities and other higher education institutions to enhance the national and international standing of the Discipline.
  • A strong record of higher degree research supervision and the mentoring and development of academic staff.
