The Project Analyst assists with planning, monitoring, and documenting enterprise projects to ensure achievement of project objectives and timelines. The Project Analyst oversees small scale corporate projects, ensuring they meet project, enterprise, and strategic objectives, within timelines and budgets. The Project Analyst supports Project Managers with various administrative tasks, facilitates communication, and contributes to the development of project management methodologies and processes.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Plan and lead small corporate projects within established timelines, budgets and available resources.

  • Build and lead project teams.

  • Collaborate with the project sponsor to develop the project charter and scope, objectives and deliverables.

  • Manage the scope of projects and in collaboration define project milestones and dependencies. 

  • Identify and assign tasks, create a schedule, identify a budget and publish written project plans and required reporting.

  • Ensure confidentiality and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Analyze project initiatives and requirements by conducting feasibility assessments, identifying potential barriers and recommending a solution and/or course of action.

  • Monitor project performance and present regular reports on key metrics, such as project progress, budget variance and resource utilization.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members, stakeholders, and external partners. Organize meetings, documenting discussions, and ensuring clear communication channels.

  • Identify risks and issues that may affect project success, proposing mitigation strategies and monitoring risk throughout the project.

  • Generate reports based on data analysis to help project managers make informed decisions and track project performance.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and best practices implementation within project workflows. Support project team with review and implementation of lessons learned.

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including status reports, meeting minutes and risk/issue logs.

  • Support Project Managers with project management responsibilities, including contributing to the planning, budgeting and overall strategy.

  • Contribute to the ongoing corporate development of project management methodology and processes.

  • Confirms project documentation is completed, signed, and filed.

  • Maintain project status updates.

  • Monitor the professional practices of project management methodology.

  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and resolving issues as they arise.

  • Receive updates from Project Managers, updates the master PMO (functional) dashboard and/or project status reports.

  • Order necessary equipment and project supplies.

  • Ensure team members have the resources they need to complete tasks on time and within the budget.

  • Organize and file invoices, contracts, reports, and other financial documents.

  • Liaise with the Senior Project Managers to maintain currency of the project documentation repository.

  • Maintain employee-facing project sites and ensure the team is maximizing digital tools to support efficient processes (i.e. SharePoint, Monday.com, ConnectingMB Project pages, etc).

  • Schedule meetings and appointments, as required.

  • Take meeting minutes.

  • Work collaboratively with departments to achieve organizational success.  

  • Demonstrate commitment to the creation of a respectful workplace. 

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to credit union policies and procedures on risk management, confidentiality, security, and fraud prevention. 

  • Maintain familiarity with the credit union’s history, vision, priorities and values.

Essential Qualifications

  • Recognized Project Management designation or equivalent experience and education or is willing to participate in certification/continuing education processes. 

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodology and implementation.  

  • Ability to persevere through obstacles, resistance, and unforeseen challenges.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. 

  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure.  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize using sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions. 

  • Ability to follow standardized regulations.

  • Knowledge of risk management within the financial industry.  

  • Skilled in using the latest technology.
