Global Card Issuance (GCI) manages service partners that provide card manufacturing, issuance and project support for all proprietary American Express cards globally. This role concentrates on inventory analysis and management within the Card Design & Manufacturing team.


This role will be responsible for managing inventory items, day-to-day inventory operations, and implementing inventory control protocols, including but not limited to, forecasting, ordering, and monitoring of ~1,000 unique materials (cards & paper stock) for markets within the Americas region. This role will coordinate activities with a variety of internal (ex: Marketing, Brand, and Compliance) and external partners (Card & Print vendors).

  • Optimize inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess or obsolete inventory while ensuring cards and materials are available when and where needed.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance forecasting models and inventory management processes to effectively support business and inventory needs.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to standardize, streamline, and improve transactional and operational inventory processes.
  • Leverage Inventory Management and Business Intelligence tools to analyze data, generate reports, build queries, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Lead and support projects and strategic initiatives that impact inventory management, forecasting, and related operational processes.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Capabilities, Compliance, Brand, Marketing, and other key stakeholders to align priorities, resolve issues, and drive business results.
  • Support third-party management activities, including monitoring supplier performance, managing service expectations, identifying and escalating risks or issues, and ensuring adherence to established operational and compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, operations, logistics, planning, or data analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, lookups, and working with large datasets
  • Strong ability to analyze inventory data, identify trends or discrepancies, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and quantitative analysis skills, with strong analytical capabilities and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate successfully with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability, with demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently as a self-starter.

     


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Operations, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
