What would you do? The Quality Auditor is responsible for independently assessing the accuracy, completeness, compliance, and control effectiveness of trade reconciliation activities across equity and fixed income products. The role conducts transaction and process audits, identifies defects and control gaps, performs root-cause analysis, and works with operations teams to implement corrective and preventive actions. The Quality Auditor also supports quality reporting, calibration, process improvement, and audit readiness while promoting consistent adherence to client requirements, policies, procedures, and service-level agreements.
What are we looking for? Graduate or postgraduate qualification in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline; an MBA is preferred Strong understanding of investment banking operations, trade lifecycle, cash and position reconciliations, settlements, and corporate actions Relevant experience in quality assurance, quality auditing, risk and controls, or operational review within asset management or financial services Sound knowledge of audit sampling, defect classification, root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action tracking, and quality reporting Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, professional judgment, and the ability to identify control gaps and recurring error trends Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear audit feedback and engage effectively with stakeholders Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and consistently meet audit timelines Willingness to work night shifts between 4:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. IST and work 100% from the office Willingness to work on Indian holidays, based on business requirements Good Verbal Communication Skills Good Written Communication MS Office
Roles and Responsibilities: Conduct independent quality audits of cash and position reconciliation activities across equities and fixed income securities Review reconciliation outputs, supporting evidence, break investigations, and closure documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance Validate alignment between internal books and custodian or broker records and identify exceptions, control failures, and processing defects Perform risk-based sampling and targeted reviews of high-value, aged, sensitive, or critical transactions Assess adherence to standard operating procedures, checklists, client requirements, policies, controls, and service-level agreements Record audit findings accurately, classify defects by severity and risk, and maintain complete audit trails and supporting evidence Analyze recurring errors and operational incidents, including settlement failures, booking errors, corporate action impacts, and timing differences Lead root-cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and financial or client impact Track remediation actions to closure and verify the effectiveness and sustainability of implemented controls Prepare and publish quality dashboards, defect trends, audit results, recurring themes, and risk observations for stakeholders Conduct feedback sessions and quality calibrations with operations teams to ensure consistent interpretation of audit standards Escalate significant control breaches, repeated non-compliance, potential financial impact, and missed deadlines in a timely manner Support internal, client, and regulatory audit requirements by ensuring documentation and evidence are complete and audit-ready Identify opportunities to strengthen quality controls, standardize audit practices, and improve process accuracy and efficiency Maintain independence, confidentiality, objectivity, and professional judgment during all quality reviews Complete assigned audits, mandatory training, and quality deliverables within agreed timelinesBCom
