The Retirement Benefits Analyst serves as a subject matter expert for the organization's Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution retirement programs. The Retirement Benefits Analyst provides comprehensive escalation support to stakeholders, including colleagues, managers, and HR business partners while maintaining critical administrative functions across all retirement benefit plans. The Retirement Benefits Analyst is charged with using analytical problem-solving skills and subject matter expertise to execute and support assigned retirement benefits programs and to provide exceptional customer service to stakeholders.Job Description
- Serves as a subject matter expert and point of contact for escalated colleague retirement benefits program inquiries; provides exceptional customer service to colleagues and other stakeholders; resolves retirement benefits-related issues through investigation and coordination with internal and external partners; guides colleagues through retirement benefits enrollment processes, , and plan changes; responds to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings in a timely and professional manner; ensures complete resolution of retirement benefits inquiries; participates in colleague and new hire benefits presentations; escalates complex benefits inquiries as necessary.
- Ensures the timely and accurate processing of retirement benefits transactions in accordance with best practices and applicable legal requirements; maintains accurate retirement benefits records and ensures data integrity across systems; coordinates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure accurate and compliant processing and reconciliation of retirement benefits transactions; supports enrollment activities including communications, system updates, and employee meetings; reconciles and processes retirement benefits-related invoices.
- Supports the implementation of new retirement benefits programs through administrative setup and employee communications; maintains ongoing retirement benefits operations through proactive monitoring and issue resolution; collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless program delivery and colleague experience.
- Analyzes data sources to provide evidence-based recommendations about process improvement within the retirement domain; and researches and analyzes retirement benefits-related issues to identify root causes and develops resolution recommendations.
- Leverages organizational knowledge and insights to enhance retirement benefits program effectiveness; contributes to knowledge sharing initiatives within the Retirement Team; and documents processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure continuity and consistency.
- Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for process improvements and program enhancements; proactively adopts and leverages technology tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.
Education - Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
Experience - Required
- 2 years in Benefits Administration
Experience - Preferred
- 3 years in Human Resources Operations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including ability to work with formulas and pivot tables
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail
- Experience working with an Enterprise Human Capital Management System
- Skilled in process management
- Ability to listen actively, communicate clearly and empathetically, take responsibility, adapt, and exercise self-control under pressure.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Preferred
- Working knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Medicare and Social Security, and DOL requirements.
- Experience working with outsourced benefits administration vendors
Licenses and Certifications - Preferred
- PHR - Professional in Human Resources - HR Certification Institute or
- CP - Certified Professional - Society for Human Resource Management or
- CCP - Certified Compensation Professional - WorldatWork or
- CEBS - Certified Employee Benefits Specialist - International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans
