  • 12 months max term

What’s the role?

The Financial Crime Surveillance (FCS) team is part of Westpac’s Risk Division and is responsible for detecting, deterring and fighting financial crime. This role is part of the first line of defence for financial crime related risks such as Know Your Customer and Foreign Tax Operations. 

As a Risk Analyst within the Foreign Tax team, you will investigate and assess customer cases relating to international tax obligations, reviewing customer information and supporting documentation to ensure accurate tax classification and reporting. You'll engage with customers and stakeholders through inbound and outbound interactions, analyse information from multiple sources, and make informed, risk-based decisions that support regulatory compliance. Managing your own caseload, you'll balance quality, productivity and risk requirements while collaborating across teams to resolve complex issues and deliver positive customer outcomes. Through your work, you'll play a key role in helping Westpac meet its domestic and international tax and regulatory obligations.

 

What do I need?

We are looking for someone with a curious nature, customer centric and enjoys solving problems. 

You will also bring:

  • Strong customer service experience including call handling preferred
  • Experience within banking or financial services (desirable)
  • Investigative mindset and strong analytical skills or show a willingness to learn
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own case load
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Computer literate and proficient with the ability to navigate multiple systems with ease
