Over the period of your internship, you will get the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals and receive learning opportunities to build strong foundations for your future career.&nbsp;</p> <h3>About the Role</h3> <p>Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented legal professional or recent LL.B graduate to gain hands-on experience in legal research, investigations, evidence review, and professional drafting within a fast-paced and dynamic operational environment.</p> <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <p>Case Assessment &amp; Evidence Management</p> <ul> <li>Case Evaluation: Support the review of new and ongoing cases to identify the nature of allegations, establish background context, and break down complex matters into clear investigative issues.</li> <li>Information Analysis: Review and organize case documents, records, and correspondence into structured, easy-to-analyze formats.</li> <li>Critical Review: Proactively identify and highlight inconsistencies, missing information, or areas requiring further clarification within case files.</li> </ul> <p>Investigative Support &amp; Documentation</p> <ul> <li>Material Preparation: Assist in drafting essential investigative tools, including interview questions, case summaries, and briefing notes.</li> <li>Factual Record Keeping: Document interviews and key findings accurately to contribute to a coherent, objective factual record for each case.</li> <li>Operational Support: Assist the team with day-to-day investigative and administrative tasks as assigned.</li> </ul> <p>Legal Research &amp; Analysis</p> <ul> <li>Targeted Research: Conduct focused legal research on matters relevant to assigned cases.</li> <li>Legal Summaries: Synthesize and summarize applicable legal principles in a clear, well-structured manner.</li> <li>Fact-to-Law Mapping: Support the team in linking established facts to relevant legal issues under senior supervision.</li> </ul> <p>Drafting &amp; Reporting</p> <ul> <li>First Drafts: Prepare structured initial drafts of Investigation Plans, progress updates, final reports, and legal memoranda.</li> <li>Iterative Refinement: Participate actively in team discussions and revise drafts based on feedback to meet institutional standards.</li> </ul> <h3>Career Growth and Development</h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We have a strong culture of constant learning and we deeply invest in our people. You’ll have the opportunity to shape a growing organization and gain rewarding technical experience.</span></p> <h3>Qualifications</h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Across all roles, these are the </span><a href="https://oneacrefund.org/work-with-us/application-process/qualifications/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">general qualifications we look for</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> For this role specifically, you will have:</span></p> <ul> <li>Foundational understanding of criminal law, law of evidence, and contract law</li> <li>At least 3-6 months of internship or practical exposure within a law firm, judiciary, prosecution office, or other fast-paced legal environment is an added advantage</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in legal writing through coursework, research papers, moot court activities, internships or similar assignments</li> <li>Strong interest in legal and investigations work, with a willingness to learn, take initiative and work within structured timelines and high-pressure environments</li> <li>Proficiency in both English and Kinyarwanda, with strong verbal and written communication skills required; working knowledge of French is an added advantage.</li> </ul> <h3>Preferred Start Date</h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As soon as possible</span></p> <h3>Job Location</h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kigali, Rwanda</span></p> <h3>Benefits</h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Interns will be provided with a reasonable stipend for the duration of their contract.
