JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales & Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing accurate and competitive quotations for goods and services supporting Jennmar's Domestic Mining Segment. This role partners closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance to analyze costs, review Bills of Material (BOMs), evaluate market trends, and ensure pricing strategies align with profitability objectives and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to translate complex cost structures into strategic pricing recommendations that support Jennmar's corporate sales strategy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in pricing, cost analysis, sales operations, financial analysis, estimating, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, lookups, and financial modeling.
- Experience analyzing Bills of Material (BOMs), manufacturing costs, or industrial products.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in mining, manufacturing, industrial products, or heavy industry environments.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
- Understanding of cost accounting principles and margin analysis.
- Experience supporting strategic pricing initiatives and contract management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pricing & Quotation Management
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations for mining products, services, and solutions.
- Analyze customer RFQs, specifications, contracts, and scope requirements to develop competitive pricing proposals.
- Collaborate with sales representatives and business leaders to establish pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability.
- Maintain quotation records and pricing documentation within company systems.
- Support contract renewals, pricing reviews, and customer-specific pricing agreements.
Cost Analysis & BOM Review
- Analyze Bills of Material (BOMs) to validate product costs and identify pricing opportunities.
- Review material, labor, freight, overhead, and service costs to ensure accurate quotation development.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through BOM optimization and process improvements.
- Validate cost assumptions used in pricing models.
Market & Trend Analysis
- Monitor raw material, labor, transportation, and supplier cost trends affecting mining products and services.
- Conduct margin analysis and evaluate profitability by customer, product line, and market segment.
- Develop reports and dashboards highlighting pricing performance, cost trends, and business opportunities.
- Provide recommendations on pricing adjustments based on market conditions and business objectives.
Sales & Business Support
- Support the pricing review process and implementation of pricing initiatives.
- Respond to pricing-related inquiries from sales teams and managers.
- Ensure compliance with company pricing policies and approval procedures.
Data & Reporting
- Maintain pricing databases and cost models.
- Generate regular reports on quote activity, win rates, margins, and pricing effectiveness.
- Analyze historical quote data to identify trends and improve forecasting accuracy.
