Join the Tax Development Organization as a Staff Tax Analyst. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to how the tax law is integrated with software development. This may include interpreting tax compliance requirements, developing/testing software, and influencing our user experience


Responsibilities

  • Research, analysis and documentation of Tax issues of high-to-highest complexity and diverse breadth
     Evaluate product features and enhancements, possibly in the form of offering roadmaps, epics and stories (done in partnership with the business

  • Coordination and/or prioritization of activities across team and community leading to successful project completion. This can take the form of groomed backlogs and acceptance

  • Develops standards for technical requirements of the tax content

  • Documented best practices that the Senior TA has ensured are broadly used and properly applied

  • Estimates and sequencing of team activities as inputs to projects plans and sprint planning

  • Innovative solutions to tax-related problems and compliance

  • Strategic analysis of tax issues and opportunities, with broad business impact


Qualifications


  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance and/or min 5 years equivalent relevant work experience

  • Experience preparing and/or reviewing federal and provincial tax returns, such as T1/TP-1

  • Strong background in tax research and analysis and a deep understanding of Canadian tax law

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information and complex tax issues in non-technical language for consumption inside and outside of the organization

  • Comprehensive understanding and use of tax preparation software (experience using TaxCycle, TaxPrep and ProFile is an asset)

The expected base pay range for this position is:
Toronto $145,500 - $197,000
Ontario Remote $145,500- $197,000
