Secondary Marketing Analyst (Full Time)

POSITION PURPOSE
The Secondary Marketing Analyst is responsible for assisting the Secondary Marketing Manager in the day-to-day Secondary Marketing job functions. Including but not limited to completing lock and pricing review request queues submitted by operations staff and internal mortgage loan officers. Pricing review task requests vary, and the Secondary Marketing Analyst is expected to carefully review and evaluate each request. The task will include completing the updates in the loan record, re-price loans using a historical pricing tool, updating the lock record, and checking the alerts to ensure loan changes are within guidelines. In addition, the Secondary Marketing Analyst will maintain an understanding of each investor’s specific lock policies and have basic product knowledge.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Completes locks in Encompass and Optimal Blue.
- Completes lock extensions.
- Completes the final price check.
- Submits lock and lock modification requests to Investors and secures lock confirmation.
- Locks loan with investor and secures lock confirmation.
- Generates the Encompass lock confirmation.
- Modifies lock and re-prices loans after the initial lock.
- Assists all departments with general Secondary Marketing information.
- Answers rate lock, investor, and guideline-related questions.
- Answers Lock Desk related call inquires.
- Ensures Secondary Market operations are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Report all pricing exceptions to the Secondary Marketing Manager for approval.
- Provides support to the Mortgage Loan Closing staff.
- Provides support to Mortgage Services and Correspondent Lenders to facilitate Secondary Mortgage Programs.
- Serves as a line of communication for Mortgage Services with the Secondary Market for issues that arise regarding committed and sold loans.
- Required to update/maintain appropriate procedures to maintain compliance with Secondary Market guidelines and Federal/State regulations.
- Completes all other tasks, assignments, or functions as assigned and/or required
- Originates new contracts in the Secondary Market for the sale of new and existing loans.
- Remains active in Prosperity Bank’s training programs. Complete the position’s current curriculum as outlined by completing Prosperity Banks annual required compliance training and the supplemental courses listed within the prescribed time. In addition, follows policy and procedure daily to ensure compliance with current regulations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: • Bachelor (4-year college) degree or 5+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge: • Possess a solid understanding of the technology used to support secondary marketing
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Experience Required: • At least 5 years of related experience
• Knowledge of rules and regulations
• Knowledge of residential loan collateral documentation
• Ability to use a LOS, Encompass, and Optimal Blue
Skills/Abilities: • Must have a solid knowledge of lock desk, pricing, and sales of mortgage loans into the secondary market
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently and consistently produce accurate work
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
• Ability to multi-task in a high paced environment with a heavy volume of transactions
• Ability to interface with other departments to resolve issues as applicable

Mathematics Ability: Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; and ratio, proportion, and percentage. Able to perform very simple algebra.
Language Ability: Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias.
Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent), and variation in word order using present, perfect, and future tenses.
