Securities & Derivatives Associate Analyst Hybrid
The Opportunity
This is a foundational role on our Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) Allocations team. As an Officer, you will be on the front lines, responsible for the accurate and timely execution of daily settlement and allocation activities that are critical to our business. This is a hands-on role where you will develop deep subject matter expertise in a complex and dynamic product area. You will be a key contributor to the team's success, ensuring operational stability and control. This position offers an excellent opportunity to build a career in Markets Operations with a clear path for growth and development.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day MBS settlement, reconciliation, and exception processing activities with a high degree of accuracy and within strict market deadlines.
- Follow all control procedures precisely, including the completion of daily checklists, reconciliations, and sign-offs.
- Promptly identify, research, and escalate trade breaks, settlement fails, or other discrepancies to team leadership.
- Manage daily communications with internal partners, including the trading desk and other operations teams, to resolve issues.
- Contribute to the resolution of client inquiries by providing accurate and timely research.
- Actively identify inefficiencies in daily tasks and suggest process improvements to enhance controls and reduce manual work.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and take ownership of your work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in a financial operations role is a plus, but not required
