An experienced security analyst to play a key role in our Security Platforms team. The security analyst will be responsible for designing, configuring, and managing the key security tools supporting our Cyber Fusion Centre colleagues as well as guiding key projects and initiatives. Success in this role will require security expertise, technical excellence, and an in-depth understanding of security operations.
Why This Role is Important To Us
State Street is seeking a Security Analyst for our Security Platforms team, which is part of the State Street Cyber Fusion Centre. This team designs, manages, and supports the security tools which enable security operations across State Street. These tools are critical to State Street’s security, enabling threat detection, incident response, threat hunting, vulnerability management, and other key functions.
The role also helps the organization responsibly adopt AI-driven security capabilities while addressing emerging risks tied to the use and misuse of AI technologies across the enterprise.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Deliver and maintain reliable security platforms, providing incident responders and threat hunters with capable, high-performing tools while managing core controls such as EDR, advanced anti-malware, and security automation and orchestration solutions.
Ensure full environment coverage, managing endpoint agent deployment and partnering with global technology teams to maintain complete visibility across our complex environment.
Enable and educate partner teams, sharing platform capabilities and use cases with the Cyber Fusion Centre to support threat detection, incident response, threat hunting, and insider investigations.
Respond rapidly to evolving threats, delivering effective solutions to emerging risks and new requirements, while tuning, upgrading, and maintaining systems through disciplined change management.
Drive innovation and growth, building automation and integration solutions to boost efficiency and platform value, while contributing to projects that expand capability and adoption.
What We Value
Hands-on platform experience, operating or supporting tools used in incident response, threat detection, or threat hunting, with familiarity across multiple open source and commercial security tools, their use cases, capabilities, and limitations.
Strong foundational security knowledge, particularly within large and complex organizations, with solid grounding in core security principles and practices.
Threat landscape awareness, understanding of current security threats and challenges, along with familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
24/7 operations experience, working within a security operations environment that emphasizes speed of response, reliability, and system availability.
Strong personal and interpersonal skills, a desire to learn, a collaborative work style, strong work ethic, and excellent communication and presentation abilities (verbal and written).
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Experience level: 5+ years of relevant security and systems management experience, including at least 3 years specifically in security.
Core expertise: direct experience with incident response, threat detection, and relevant open source or commercial security tools.
Education/certifications: a degree is not required, though a qualification in information security or information systems, or relevant industry certifications, may be beneficial.
Technical skills: experience with scripting, system integration, or light development would be beneficial.
Work environment: experience working in distributed, international teams and/or within financial services would be beneficial.
Work Requirement
This role will be filled in Dublin or Kilkenny and follows a hybrid work model that includes regular in-office days.
This team supports 24/7 operations, therefore participation in an on-call rotation is required
