What you`ll do: We're looking for a dynamic (Mid to Senior) AI Engineer to join our team, which is leading the charge to make SAP a truly data-driven company, who can design, build and bring to production, enterprise-grade AI solutions across processes in our operations. You will play a key role in developing scalable (Gen) AI and multi-agent systems and products, leveraging SAP's latest technologies, and applying strong software engineering skills combined with a deep understanding of data and MLOps practices to ensure robust, maintainable, and highly available systems. You will help empower all SAP employees by transforming trusted data into real-time insights and intelligent action, aligning with our goals of Process Simplification, Automation, and Business AI within the Corporate Functions & Analytics (CFA) domain, specifically in one of the following key areas: Finance, Spend, People Solutions and Analytics. The Role: In this role, you will work closely with AI Product Owners, data scientists, and architects to translate AI concepts into reliable, production-ready systems. You’ll design and implement AI solutions, setup and develop big data pipelines and ensure high standards of scalability, observability and compliance. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Design, develop, and deploy innovative Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions from proof of concept to full enterprise production.</li> <li>Build and maintain robust pipelines for LLM-based applications, including data processing and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).</li> <li>Implement AgentOps practices to automate the lifecycle of AI agents and LLM applications.</li> <li>Collaborate with Product Owners to translate functional requirements into robust technical specifications.</li> <li>Ensure the reliability, observability, and compliance of deployed AI solutions through robust monitoring and tracing.</li> <li>Guide and mentor junior colleagues to foster AI engineering excellence across teams (SENIOR ONLY)</li> </ul> What you bring: <ul> <li>Degree in computer science or a similar field.</li> <li>4+ Years in Software Engineering</li> <li>Proven hands-on experience in developing and deploying LLM applications.</li> <li>Advanced coding skills in Python (preferred) or Java, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles.</li> <li>Experience with backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django) and building microservice architectures.</li> <li>Practical experience with generative AI frameworks like LangChain</li> <li>Familiarity with AgentOps tools such as LangSmith, LangFuse, or MLflow for tracing and observability.</li> <li>Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS) using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions.</li> <li>Understanding of Agile, SAFe methodologies and collaborative engineering practices (SENIOR ONLY)</li> <li>Fluent English and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.</li> </ul> Nice to have but not a must: <ul> <li>Familiarity with SAP AI Core, SAP BTP</li> <li>Experience with agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe) and project management tools (e.g., Jira).</li> <li>Experience with Agentic AI Frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, Microsoft Agent Framework)</li> </ul> These skills are a plus.
