Purpose:
The Billing Analyst is expected to deliver operational and control excellence by performing 3rd party and IG billing and reconciliation activities for US Midstream covering Pipeline and Distribution business areas. High degree of diligence is required to ensure accurate financial reporting and sound working capital. This role would involve a regular connect with Project Managers and other FO teams.
Accountabilities:
The role will have a mix of deliverables primarily covering invoice billing and balance sheet reconciliation and reporting to ensure that business transactions are accounted for in compliance with Shell and external accounting guidelines. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Timely and accurate posting of billing invoices for US Midstream
- Timely and accurate posting of miscellaneous accruals (as needed)
- Reconciliation, analysis, and issue resolution of assigned low risk balance sheet accounts and provision of commentaries for variance/fluctuation analysis
- Cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders from both onshore and offshore (i.e. disputes handling, special requirement for contracts)
- Compliance with control and audit requirements, as well as with Shell’s guidelines and business principles
- Approaching the process with a Continuous Improvement mindset to identify non-value-added activities and propose possible solutions to bring more efficiency or effectiveness to the process
- Work collaboratively within the team and support the Specialist and Team Manager in delivering other team priorities/projects/initiatives in alignment with business and process goals.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or any closely-related course
- Experience in SAP (preferred, but not required)
- Analytical skills and keen attention to detail
- Stakeholder management skill
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills and able to independently set priorities
- Able to adapt to new or changing circumstances and ambiguous or pressured situations
