Senior Analyst – Energy Infrastructure
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analyst – Energy Infrastructure to join our Finance Energy Infrastructure team in Melbourne CBD on a full-time until June 2026.
Reporting to the Finance Partnering Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, planning, forecasting and analytical support across the Energy Infrastructure portfolio. You will be responsible for providing accurate, transparent and actionable financial insights that support informed decision-making while enhancing data integrity, reporting capability and financial processes.
This role will be heavily focused on advancing reporting practices, improving financial data quality, driving process optimisation initiatives, and embedding continuous improvement across finance operations. You will work closely with Finance teams and key stakeholders to ensure financial information is reliable, meaningful and delivered efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial workflows, reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Identify and implement opportunities to simplify processes, improve controls, strengthen data quality and reduce manual effort across finance activities.
- Deliver detailed financial analysis across assets and projects, providing meaningful insights into performance, investment outcomes and emerging risks.
- Prepare monthly financial performance reports, delivering clear, transparent and insightful commentary on key drivers, trends, risks and opportunities.
- Support the uplift of finance systems, reporting frameworks and data governance practices to improve consistency and reliability of information.
- Collaborate with Finance teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements, validate data, resolve issues and drive reporting improvements.
- Contribute to initiatives that strengthen financial transparency, reporting capability and continuous improvement across the Energy Infrastructure portfolio.
- Support forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning processes, ensuring robust assumptions, data integrity and high-quality outputs.
- Develop, enhance and automate reporting solutions, dashboards and analytical tools to improve accessibility, transparency and decision support.
Your Background
- Strong experience in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting within complex or asset-intensive organisations.
- Demonstrated experience driving process improvement, reporting enhancement, data quality initiatives and finance transformation activities.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, data governance and the importance of maintaining high levels of data integrity.
- Experience designing, improving or automating reporting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy and transparency.
- Advanced analytical and modelling skills, with experience using enterprise finance systems and reporting tools (e.g. Adaptive Planning, Power BI, Workday Finance).
- Proven ability to manage planning and reporting cycles, delivering high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, concise and actionable insights.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline; power and energy sector experience will be highly regarded.
