Job Description:Â
Support Americasâs Indirect Tax Team audit defense by gathering, analyzing and reconciling large sets of data; assist with other audit support documentationÂ
Ownership and main point of contact for escalated sales tax refunds related to taxability issues and buyer exemptions; work closely with Global Customer Service and Buyer Exemption TeamsÂ
Review category mappings and support AI learning for enhanced taxabilityÂ
Assist Americaâs Indirect Tax Team with other special projects or miscellaneous duties as assignedÂ
Perform ad-hoc tax technical research Â
Collaborate with Customer Service, Product and Engineering, Finance, Shared Services, and the broader Tax TeamÂ
Â
Requirements:Â
Experience with U.S. sales & use taxes is required; understanding of marketplace facilitator legislation preferred
Experience with US indirect tax compliance and sales tax audits
Experience interacting with US state and local tax authoritiesÂ
Familiarity with Canada, Mexico, and other global VAT regimes a plus
Capable of supporting indirect tax projects with cross-functional dependenciesÂ
Demonstrated passion and proven track record of delivering results in a fast-placed, rapidly changing business environmentÂ
Strong attention to detail, problem resolution and mitigation skillsÂ
Ability to articulate complex concepts in a concise manner both written and verballyÂ
Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, and tax research tools requiredÂ
Experience with SharePoint, Tableau, Alteryx and other data wrangling tools preferredÂ
Experience and working knowledge of Vertex O-Series preferredÂ
Experience with SAP/S4HANA preferredÂ

Basic Qualifications:Â
3-5 years of related indirect tax experience. Big 4 experience a plusÂ
Bachelorâs degree or equivalent with emphasis in Finance, Information Systems, or Accounting. Advanced degree a plusÂ
CMI or CPA a plus
Fluent in English â other languages helpful
Ability to work a hybrid schedule in an eBay office requiredÂ
