Position Summary
The SeniorĀ Business Analyst plays a critical role in bridging D-treeās program teams, digital health users, and technology teams to ensure digital solutions effectively respond to health system needs. The role is responsible for understanding business and program requirements, translating user needs into clear system specifications, supporting human-centered design processes, and ensuring digital solutions are practical, user-friendly, and aligned with D-treeās program objectives.
Working closely with program managers, government stakeholders, digital health users, and software development teams, the Senior Business Analyst ensures successful delivery of digital health solutions through effective requirements management, testing, documentation, user engagement, and continuous improvement
Key Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
Business Analysis (60% LOE)Ā
- Lead the team through system design, development, testing, training, and implementation activities.Ā This includes the design and development of digital platforms, system testing, etc.
- Together with the program team, identify and manage stakeholders (including digital system users) and lead them in mapping and validating business processes, requirements, and designs related to the delivery of integrated health services, through conducting focused group discussions, interviews, and field visits.Ā
- Apply Human-Centered Design to lead the documentation of the software requirement specifications, software designs, and solution architecture by engaging relevant stakeholders at all levelsĀ Ā
- Lead the documentation of the user manuals, administrative manuals, technical reporting, and related deliverable reports.
- Together with the Program Manager(s), coordinate with the software development team by participating in relevant meetings, clarifying requirements, and mediating between stakeholders and the development team.Ā
- Lead the planning and implementation of user acceptance testing (UAT), performance testing, stress testing, technical capacity building sessions, and the preparation of the associated reports.
- Support system user training in collaboration with the program team.
System Quality Assurance (10% LOE)Ā
Be accountable for the successful delivery of efficient, relevant, and user-friendly digital systems by ensuring the program team at D-tree follows relevant processes and guidelines and engages key stakeholdersā relevant processes:Ā
- Quality assuranceĀ
- Support the Program Manager(s) to develop, implement, and monitor the progress of work plans; in particular, ensure system design, development, and implementation activities are accurately reflected in the work plan and delivered according to the project timelines.
- Ensure the program and development teams are applying and following Ministry guidelines and set standards outlined in the Tanzania Health Enterprise Architecture as well as e-Government standards.Ā Ā
- Lead the formulation of test cases and requirement traceability matrix to be used in performing unit tests, UAT, integration testing, stress testing, and performance testing as per the delivery schedule.Ā
- Evaluate business processes and identify areas for improvement and propose solutions; lead system feedback management and troubleshooting processes.Ā
- Liaise with the technical team to ensure timely development of digital health solutions including validating the use of the agreed standard across D-tree digital health portfolio.Ā
Program ImplementationĀ and Communication (30% LOE)Ā
Support Project Manager in technical and programmatic project management and communication, including reporting and dissemination:Ā
- Ensure clear communication of required system changes to stakeholders, including managing their expectations to ensure timely delivery and alignment to project scope.Ā
- Support the Program Manager in the development of project progress reports and analyses for donors and project stakeholders.
- Participate in training, supportive supervision, and day-to-day project monitoring activitiesĀ
- Support the Program Manager in activities preparation, including stakeholder coordination, budget preparation, and monitoring and reporting.
- Support the communications team in writing project progress, newsletter, briefs, and publication of D-treeās impact as a result of our work.Ā
- Represent D-treeās interests and present progress, achievements, and lessons learned in Mainland Tanzania to key stakeholders in public and professional forums and conferences.
- Be aware of current and future programmatic and digital frameworks to advise the team on appropriate frameworks to be adapted in project design, development, and implementation.Ā
- Ensure that there are appropriate approaches and standards reflected in project work plans and implementation, as far as digital implementation is concerned.Ā
Qualifications
- At least Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in business analysis, digital health, health information systems, software implementation, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies. Knowledge on Agile methodologies such as SCRUM framework is an added advantage
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including program teams, software developers, and end users.
- Experience supporting software testing, user acceptance testing, and system implementation.
- Experience in the use of BPMN language; draw.io and figma tools is an added advantageĀ
- Understanding of digital health systems, health information systems, or public health programs is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Salary Range:Ā
The salary range for this role is TSh 72,516,600 to TSh 94,271,580 per year. While salary offers typically begin at the lower end of the range, candidates who bring strong, directly relevant expertise and exceptional value may be placed higher within the range, in line with D-treeās compensation approach and internal equity considerations. The full range reflects pay across the job level, including potential growth in this role over time.
