Purpose

The aim of this document is to provide an indication of the requirements for successfully performing the role of Business System Analyst in Andile Solutions.

Role Overview

The purpose of the Business System Analyst (BSA) at Andile is to contribute Capital Markets knowledge and practical application of business analysis in order to design, develop and implement functional and technical system solutions to Capital Markets challenges. This role has a client functional and technical system focus.


Role Objectives


  • Understand and clarify client business requirements to identify, document and drive client business challenges through business analysis.

  • Perform and deliver business analysis deliverables on projects.

  • Contribute business context to functional and/or technical solutions in deliverable teams in order to deliver client solutions.

  • Ensure that implemented solutions address the original client business requirement with the requisite quality.

  • Ensure Andile’s continual growth in business analysis competence, competitiveness and innovation through continuous individual learning and development.

  • Understand and clarify client functional and technical system requirements to identify, document and solve client system challenges within the client business context.

  • Deliver functional and technical system solutions to solve client business and system challenges.

  • Ensure that implemented system solutions address the original client business and/ or system requirement with the requisite quality and efficiency that aims to exceed client expectations.

  • Ensure Andile’s continual growth in system analysis competence, competitiveness and innovation through continuous individual learning and development.

 

 Qualifications

The following educational requirements were found to be relevant to this role:


  • Any B.Sc. or B.Com. degree contextually relevant to Capital Markets business.

  • Post-graduate degrees are advantageous.

  • IIBA or similar business analysis certifications are advantageous.

 

Knowledge

The following knowledge requirements were found to be relevant to this role:


  • Capital Markets subject matter, across asset classes, across business areas at the requisite level of seniority (accountability).

  • Business Analysis fundamental knowledge at the requisite level of seniority (accountability).

  • System Configuration and Development fundamental knowledge at the requisite level of seniority (accountability).


Skills

The following skills requirements were found to be relevant to this role:


  • Requirements Gathering – elicitation of business requirements for input to business requirements specifications.

  • Gap Analysis – assessment and documentation of the differences between the as-is (current) state of business against the to-be (desired) state of business in the context of business requirements, in order to highlight shortcomings and benefits of proposed solutions.

  • Solution Assessment – critical evaluation of proposed solutions against business requirements.

  • Solution Design – design of functional and technical system solutions that address client system requirements.

  • Scoping – contribute to client deliverable scope analysis and definition within context of business requirements.

  • Planning – plan task execution and deliver accordingly.

  • Documentation – documenting of all required aspects of business analysis including requirements, gaps, solutions and testing according to Business Analysis documentation standards.

  • Testing – definition, validation and documentation of testing scope, test cases and test outcomes across phases of testing, including unit, functional/integration, regression and user acceptance testing. Includes evaluation and validation of test results.

  • Solution Verification – quality control and verification of final solution adherence to business requirements specifications before final production delivery and implementation.

  • Solution Training – training to client business users in the use and understanding of proposed or implemented solutions.

  • Post Implementation Support – client assistance in the business use or understanding of implemented solutions.

  • Stakeholder Engagement – the ability to engage relevant stakeholders of a deliverable for all business analysis delivery aspects.

  • Prioritisation – the ability to identify the object of highest importance and executing accordingly.

  • Communication – the ability to convey relevant information in written and verbal form with the intent of creating clarity.

  • Interpersonal Skills – the ability to interact with other people, individually and in groups through listening, effective speaking and the ability to control and manage emotions.

  • Collaboration – being intentional about working together with others to achieve a common purpose, and the realisation that the collective result is superior to individual results.
