Summary: 

 

The Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst role will be responsible for financial reporting and analytics for public cloud spend across the enterprise. We are looking for a Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst with a solid AWS cloud technology and cost background to join us to lead and guide our teams on how to optimize and manage cloud spend. The purpose of the role is to support the FinOps Practice, utilizing Cloud FinOps tools to define, aggregate, and deliver insightful dashboards. This role will work across our technology and business stakeholders to understand cloud consumption, identify methods to continually optimize, and ensure public cloud spend it to budget. This individual will be an advocate for FinOps cloud best practices and will be a subject matter expert in cloud financials.

Total Experience: 4-6 years 

 

Relevant Experience: 4 years 

 

Primary Skill Sets: AWS, Cloud Cost Optimization, Capacity Forecasting, Billing on Cloud, AI Cost management 

 

Secondary Skill Sets: AWS Certification, Kubernetes, Snowflake Capacity management, AWS Partner Programs, BI tools like – PowerBI or others 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Operate and manage various Cloud financial management tools (Including Apptio Cloudability, Total Cost and AWS native cloud provider tool) to provide financial transparency across the organization and make data driven decisions. 
  • Support the cloud monthly budget and forecast process in managing consumption, chargeback, show back, and savings in collaboration with Finance, SaaS Operations and R&D owners. 
  • Support annual budget and forecast process for enterprise-wide cloud spend. 
  • Provide summaries and detailed usage statistics for resources across public clouds, offering actionable intelligence to right-size and scale services efficiently to realize savings. 
  • Ability to apply an analytical lens to monitor cloud consumption at the account and application levels to investigate, detect and escalate anomalies. 
  • Ability to analyze and produce meaningful insights from large datasets. 
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams globally, assimilating requirements, driving results in the form of cloud financial data insights. 
  • Provide guidance to developers on best practices for reducing costs and optimizing consumption of cloud services. 
  • Establish Cloud Financial KPIs. 
  • Produce insightful cloud dashboards and reports.  
  • Support R&D in understanding their forecasted cloud spend based on their strategic plans. 
  • Support credit submission and management of AWS Partner program like – WMP, MPOPP,etc 

 

Experience Required: 

 

  • 4+ years of experience with AWS public cloud platforms 
  • Understanding of cloud providers, platforms and configurations and familiarity with workload usage/consumption patterns on cloud. 
  • Good understanding of billing on cloud platforms (incl. impact of usage patterns on TCO) 
  • Experienced in advanced excel as well as use of business intelligence tools: PowerBI, Tableau 
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification is a plus
