Job Summary
The Senior Commercial Manager - Data Analytics is responsible for commercial management oversight across Equinixâs portfolio of major expansion construction projects throughout the region. They provide strategic and day-to-day leadership specifically focused to drive down construction costs, provide assurance against internal financial controls and reporting processes and help manage all major contract risks. The role also includes supporting the modernization of our data analytics capabilities and driving our AI transformation. This role will support the transformation of our fragmented data and reporting into secure, automated, and insightâdriven analytics platforms.
ResponsibilitiesÂ
Construction ProjectsÂ
Provides strategic oversight for the planning and monitoring of construction projects from start to completionÂ
Monitors the financial close-out on all projects including settlement of all vendorsÂ
Reports status, successes, challenges and key activities to senior managementÂ
Develops, manages and is accountable for achievement of key commercial metricsÂ
Drives continuous improvement initiatives and develops best practicesÂ
Ensures correct level of professional cost management resources are identified, engaged and managed on all regional construction projectsÂ
Provides cost management advice and supportÂ
Oversees and provides guidance on commercial change management and change evaluation efforts on all projectsÂ
Data Analytics & AI Transformation
Support modernization of analytics platforms through automation, and standardization
Support adoption of advanced analytics, intelligent automation, and selfâservice reporting to improve efficiency and insight quality
Help to shape analytics architecture principles that balance scalability, performance, and usabilityÂ
Budget & ReportingÂ
Oversees the preparation of budgets (including detailed cost modeling and bench marking analysis) and presents to senior managementÂ
Monitors adherence against budget throughout the project lifespan, including cost checks and reviews, value engineering and cost saving initiatives and evaluation of alternatesÂ
Data analytics for project portfolio cash flow and earned value analysis utilizing Power BI and
SQL queries
Reviews project cost reports and carries out regular reviews of these with senior managementÂ
Acts as a stage gate approver of budgets prior to executive approvalÂ
Oversees the adherence against company expenditure limitsÂ
ProcurementÂ
Provides guidance and assists with the orderly development of requests for proposal leading into procurement for design services agreements, owner furnished equipment and general contractor services agreements
Guides the overall contracting strategy and signing off of construction contractsÂ
ContractsÂ
Guides contract policy and ensuring audit complianceÂ
Advises and intervenes appropriately to resolve major contractual claims and disputes as they ariseÂ
Risk ManagementÂ
Sets out risk management policy and auditing complianceÂ
Pro-actively leads all commercial risk management efforts including commercial audits, contingency analyses, risk identification and analyses and management trainingÂ
CollaborationÂ
Drives global coordination when developing strategies with corporate development, legal, company management, while also managing internal key stakeholdersÂ
People ManagementÂ
Directly manages a team of Commercial Managers and works closely with other internal project teams of varying levels of seniorityÂ
Manages the regional Commercial Management team to perform as industry-leading functionÂ
Trains and develops in-house teams on commercial controls and best practicesÂ
Trains and develops teams on the creation of Power Apps and creation of Ai agents to help commercially manage the GDC portfolio
QualificationsÂ
Typically 7+ years of professional experience ideally in data center or mission critical system design, construction and costingÂ
Demonstrated data analytics experience, ideally with Power BI and SQL queries
Demonstrated experience to create Power Apps and automate workflows
Bachelor's degree in construction, business, financial or related field preferredÂ
RICS (Royal Institute Chartered Surveyor
Accreditation) preferred
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 136,000 - 204,000 USD / Annual
United States - Redwood City Office GHQ : 163,000 - 245,000 USD / Annual
United States - CH1 Chicago : 150,000 - 224,000 USD / Annual
United States - New York City Office NYO1 : 150,000 - 224,000 USD / Annual
United States - Ashburn Office AEO : 150,000 - 224,000 USD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
