Summary of the role:
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and deliver scalable data and analytics solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) across the Finance, Inventory Management, and Planning domains.
In this role, you will develop and optimize end-to-end data pipelines using BigQuery, dbt, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Python, and SQL, transforming large and complex datasets into reliable, business-ready insights. You will leverage Vertex AI to enable advanced analytics and AI-driven capabilities while ensuring high standards of data quality, availability, performance, and governance.
You will also be responsible for producing clear technical documentation, implementing best practices, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making and enterprise transformation initiatives.
About the role:
Design, build, and deliver high-quality data products and scalable analytics solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Develop and maintain robust, high-performance data pipelines and transformation frameworks using BigQuery, dbt, Python, and SQL.
Orchestrate and automate end-to-end data workflows using Cloud Composer (Airflow), ensuring efficient scheduling, monitoring, and dependency management.
Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, define data strategies, and deliver analytics-ready solutions aligned with business objectives.
Design and optimize data models, transformations, and data marts in BigQuery to enable self-service analytics and data-driven decision-making.
Leverage Vertex AI to design and integrate advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven capabilities into scalable data solutions.
Establish and enforce data governance practices, ensuring data quality, security, compliance, and adherence to enterprise standards.
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including solution designs, data models, transformation logic, data lineage, and operational processes.
Collaborate with Enterprise Data & Analytics teams and cross-functional stakeholders to define and drive adoption of modern cloud data architectures and best practices.
Continuously optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and reliability, transforming complex datasets into actionable business insights.
About you:
4-6 years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of building and scaling data-intensive applications.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT best practices.
Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Java.
Hands-on experience with open-source big data technologies, including Spark, Flink, or Hive.
Familiarity with emerging AI paradigms, including Agentic AI concepts and applications.
Experience working with at least one major public cloud platform; GCP experience is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of data transformation and modeling tools such as dbt, PySpark, or Snowflake.
Experience with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) to enable business insights.
Solid understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git/GitHub) and CI/CD best practices.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
