Role Title:                                      Senior Finance Analyst – FP&A & Financial Control (12 month contract)

Reports to:                                    Finance Director, with day to day to the Business Operations Manager

Location:                                       Melbourne

The role

We're seeking a commercially minded finance professional with strong FP&A capability and a solid accounting foundation. This role is responsible for financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, commissions governance, and selected financial control and compliance activities for Logicalis Australia.

The role combines business partnering and performance analysis with hands-on financial accounting responsibilities, providing exposure across both commercial and operational finance functions. While commencing as a contract position, the ongoing nature of the responsibilities provides a pathway to permanency.

Accountabilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
  • Deliver monthly management reporting, financial commentary and performance analysis across all business lines.
  • Monitor profitability, bookings, backlog and key operational KPIs.
  • Develop financial models and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare vendor and Group reporting requirements, including Microsoft and Cisco reporting.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations and Leadership teams to support business performance and growth initiatives.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.

Sales & Commercial Reporting

  • Prepare and present weekly sales reporting to senior business leaders.
  • Analyse pipeline, backlog and revenue conversion opportunities.
  • Investigate and explain key performance movements and trends.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Manage daily cash flow reporting and forecasting activities.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow submissions to Logicalis Group.
  • Support customer and supplier onboarding reviews in conjunction with the Finance Director.
  • Monitor receivables performance and support working capital improvement initiatives.

Financial Accounting & Control

  • Support month-end close activities, including revenue recognition, journals, reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
  • Review project accounting and percentage-of-completion reporting within the Professional Services business.
  • Oversee key balance sheet reconciliations and accounting controls.
  • Support accounts receivable management through regular review of debtor performance and collection outcomes.
  • Provide support across broader financial control responsibilities as required.

Commissions & Incentive Management

  • Review commission calculations and related controls.
  • Maintain commission policies and governance frameworks.
  • Support the development and administration of sales commission and variable remuneration plans in partnership with HR.
  • Act as an escalation point for commission-related matters.

Compliance & Governance

  • Support key compliance and governance activities, including Modern Slavery reporting, vendor reviews, insurance renewals, lease accounting and fixed asset management.
  • Oversee IFRS 16 reporting and lease administration.
  • Ensure adherence to Group policies and local regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in governance forums and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your experience

Required:

  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in FP&A, financial accounting, commercial finance or financial reporting roles.
  • Strong financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial control experience.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across the business.
  • Advanced Power BI, Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Highly proficient Power BI skills and MS Office applications generally
  • Experience with Dynamics 365, especially the FinOps module is highly desirable

Desirable:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Experience in a technology, managed services or project-based environment.
  • Exposure to revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting.
