Senior Financial Analyst – LongHorn Operations Finance
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Senior Financial Analyst will support LongHorn Steakhouse Operations Finance by delivering data-driven insights that influence field performance across sales, labor, and new restaurant openings. This role partners closely with operations leadership (managing partners, directors, division vice presidents, and cross-functional teams) to analyze performance, identify opportunities, and drive value-creating decisions at the restaurant level.
This position blends financial planning, operational analytics, and reporting automation, requiring both technical expertise and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-financial partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
OPERATIONS & FIELD DECISION SUPPORT
-Partner with Operations leadership (managing partners, directors, division vice presidents, and cross-functional teams) to analyze restaurant performance using restaurant P&L and other reports to identify drivers of labor, sales, and profitability
-Deliver clear, actionable insights to influence decision-making at the restaurant and regional levels
-Support business reviews, operational meetings, and executive-level presentations with data-driven storytelling
-Provide ad-hoc analytics to address emerging operational questions, risks, and opportunities
LABOR & PERFORMANCE ANALYTICS
-Lead labor forecasting, variance analysis, and weekly/monthly performance recaps
-Maintain and enhance labor scorecards, staffing models, and trend analyses (e.g., 13-week labor trends, wage impacts, turnover insights)
-Support compensation and incentive programs including bonus calibration, draw calculations, and performance tracking
-Analyze operational drivers such as productivity, wage rates, and staffing efficiency to recommend improvements
NEW RESTAURANT OPENINGS (NRO) & GROWTH SUPPORT
-Support NRO planning processes including budget development and performance tracking
-Develop and maintain labor forecasts related to new restaurant openings
-Partner with cross-functional teams (development, training, operations) to ensure successful restaurant open
-Track and analyze pre-opening and post-opening performance against expectations
REPORTING, AUTOMATION, AND DATA MANAGEMENT
-Own recurring reporting processes including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting deliverables (e.g., operations business reviews, quarterly financial reviews, operational scorecards)
-Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve reporting processes to increase efficiency and scalability
-Leverage tools such as SQL, Excel, AI, and analytics platforms to manage and transform large datasets
-Ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency of financial and operational data across reporting outputs
STRATEGIC PROJECTS & INITIATIVES
-Support cross-functional initiatives including cost-saving programs, operational pilots, and process improvements
-Build financial models to evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives and operational changes
-Assist in long-range planning and target setting for operations
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
-4+ years of experience with progressing responsibility in moderate to highly complex financial analysis and reporting functions
-Advanced proficiency in Excel (modeling, large dataset manipulation)
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable insights
-Familiarity with financial modeling, operational KPIs, and performance scorecards
REQUIRED EDUCATION
-Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-MBA, CPA, or other advanced certifications
-Experience with data tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Alteryx, Power BI, or similar platforms
-Knowledge of statistics, corporate finance and/or accounting
-Experience supporting multi-unit operations, preferably in restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments
-Experience building and maintaining automated reporting solutions
-Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
