This role is a part of Card & Merchant Accounting and Controls (CMAC) team within Global Record to Report Organization (GR2R) in Controllership. Specifically, the position will be a critical part of the Incentive Accounting CoE , responsible for:

  • Analysis, interpretation and accounting of Global Network Services (GNS) and Joint Venture (JV) related processed revenue such as Royalties, Incentives etc. in accordance with the contractual terms, obligations & US GAAP. 

  • The position will be responsible for raising Invoices related for processes such as  Third Party Benefits, action items such as incentive payments etc on monthly basis followed by accounting.

  • The role will also be expected to ensure robust monitoring and reporting of various measures, initiatives, and overall delivery levels of GNS Brand related revenue & expense accounting. 

  • Perform monthly accounting which will include booking GNS/JV Royalty accruals, Deferrals, AR, AP, Clearance of ageing items, Month/Year End closures etc.

  • Manage reconciliation in SLU/IRIS applications

  • Perform Data Analytics related to GNS Royalty, Third Party Benefits, GNS Incentives, Joint Venture accounting etc. processes.

  • Maintain close contact with customers, LFO’s, segment controllers, market controllers & other business partners.

  • Monthly analysis & reporting to senior line leadership

  • Support the design and execution of a robust and sustainable model for monitoring and reporting of key measures of success for processed revenue accounting.

  • Collaborate with Control and Compliance, SOX and Operational Risk teams on relevant initiatives and deliverables.

  • Ensure compliance with all prevalent procedures and policies linked to the process. Besides the above, the position will work closely with PO&A leadership and be a part of the coordination and implementation of initiatives around operational transformation, data integrity and customer priorities.

  • Support standardization & automation projects.

  • Graduate with 2+ years of work experience.

  • Eye for detail, strong analytical skills and ability to comprehend complex contractual terms into financial implications for the business.

  • Ability to cross link / cross reference data points to facilitate comprehensive analysis.

  • Strong results orientation and flexibility to overcome obstacles, resolve process issues and interact with various stakeholders, including senior levels of the organizational hierarchy

  • Strong communication and influencing skills, and ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities.

  • Strong MIS skills, including advanced proficiency with MS Excel. 

  • Ability to develop innovative solutions using a data driven approach, multiple variables and insights.

  • Good understanding of Amex products, financial processes, systems and tools, especially Salesforce, MicroStrategy, Oracle General Ledger and IRIS.

  • Knowledge of GNS/JV business will be an added advantage
