And so much more.​   </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="">​Come break through with us.  </span></p> <p><br><br><span style="">Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.</span></p><p><span style="">Corning Shared Services (CSS) supports Corning’s global operations and delivers profitable growth through evolving  processes, ensuring compliance, and executing vital transactions.   The CSS Manager, Lease and Internal Controls is primarily responsible for managing the end-to-end lease lifecycle and ensuring the integrity of lease data, accounting,  systems, and controls. Secondarily, the role supports internal controls coaching and engagement, partnering closely with  ACR to help process owners understand control expectations and maintain high integrity across Finance. </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style=""><strong>Key Responsibilities: </strong></span><br><span style="">• End-to-end lease operations: Coordinate lease intake, validation, master data maintenance, and system updates;  partner with Business Financial Controllers, Workplace Services (WPS), Lease Center of Excellence, Staffs Controllership, and ACR to ensure accuracy and completeness.</span><br><span style="">• Lease accounting support: Ensure that appropriate review for routine lease journal entries (additions, modifications,  terminations), reconcile lease-related accounts, and maintain documentation and audit trails.</span><br><span style="">• System integrity: Perform periodic data hygiene reviews and control checks in lease and ERP systems; monitor  interfaces and resolve discrepancies promptly.</span><br><span style="">• Controls and compliance: Execute defined control procedures over leasing (SOX, policy adherence); prepare  schedules, evidence, and walkthroughs for internal/external audit requests.</span><br><span style="">• Reporting and analytics: Maintain trackers and simple dashboards (e.g., expirations, payments, assets/liabilities) and  provide clear status updates to stakeholders.</span><br><span style="">• Process documentation and training: Draft/update SOPs, playbooks, and templates for lease operations and controls;  support training and knowledge sharing with Finance and WPS.</span><br><span style="">• Issue management: Log control deficiencies or process gaps, partner with owners on practical remediation plans,  track to closure, and escalate risks when needed.</span><br><span style="">• Internal controls: Assists ACR with testing the design/operating effectiveness of key controls, SOX scoping updates,  and controls rationalization; help coach process owners on control basics and good documentation practices.</span><br><span style="">• Technical accounting support (leases): Assist with simple technical memos and policy updates related to lease  accounting and raise potential issues for review.</span><br><span style="">• Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline lease and control processes to improve accuracy, </span><br><span style="">cycle time, and transparency.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style=""> <strong>Experiences/Education – Required</strong></span><br><span style="">• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Preferred: CPA or progress toward CPA</span><br><span style="">• 1–4 years of experience in financial accounting, audit, or internal controls (internships/co-ops count)</span><br><span style="">• Strong proactive communication and stakeholder engagement; ability to execute to a framework/plan/deliverables</span><br><span style="">• Foundational understanding of US GAAP and internal control principles (SOX/COSO).</span><br><span style="">• Familiarity with ERP and financial systems; ability to learn lease systems quickly.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style=""><strong>Desired Skills and Competencies</strong>:</span><br><span style="">• Exposure to lease accounting concepts (US GAAP ASC 842) and end-to-end lease operations.</span><br><span style="">• PeopleSoft, SAP ECC, and/or SAP S/4HANA experience.</span><br><span style="">• Data analytics tools and strong Excel/PowerPoint proficiency.</span><br><span style="">• Attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and process rigor.</span><br><span style="">• Audit/testing experience; Big 4 exposure is a plus but not required.</span><br><span style="">• Ability to synthesize data into clear insights and link to business implications.</span></p> <p><br><span style=""><strong>Soft Skills:</strong></span><br><span style="">• Proactive, transparent communication; crisp status updates and stakeholder alignment.</span><br><span style="">• Ownership mindset: accountability, follow-through, and a sense of urgency.</span><br><span style="">• Collaboration across functions and cultures; builds trust and positive relationships.</span><br><span style="">• Critical thinking and problem solving; comfortable questioning and improving processes.</span><br><span style="">• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.</span><br><span style="">• Clear written and oral presentation skills suitable for diverse Finance audiences.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style=""><strong>Work Environment and Location:</strong></span><br><span style="">This role thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and requires close collaboration across global teams.
