Senior ServiceNow Engineer – CMDB & Service Data (Omaha, NE)

Key Responsibilities
Own and evolve the CMDB architecture, technical design, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with FNBO's ITSM strategy and the ServiceNow CSDM framework.
Design, implement, and govern integrations between the CMDB and external data sources (e.g., SCCM, SAMPro, ServiceNow Discovery, cloud platforms), ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
Establish and maintain enterprise-grade CI data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures, serving as the subject matter expert and escalation point for CMDB data integrity.
Develop and monitor CI data health reports and dashboards, proactively identifying and resolving data quality issues.
Partner with application owners, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to define and enforce CI data ownership, accountability, and lifecycle management.
Serve as the primary owner of the Bank's Services and Offerings data within ServiceNow, ensuring accurate representation of business and technical services in alignment with the CSDM.
Lead the design and maintenance of Service Mapping and Business Service models to support executive-level visibility into service health and dependencies.
Continuously evaluate and expand the CMDB data model, including CI classes, attributes, and relationship types, to meet evolving business and technology needs.
Define, enforce, and audit CI lifecycle processes, ensuring all creation, update, and retirement activities adhere to approved governance standards.
Lead the full lifecycle of CMDB platform enhancements, from requirements gathering and story creation through development, testing, and deployment.
Lead CMDB validation and regression testing activities during ServiceNow platform upgrades, patches, and new capability deployments.
Work closely with the IT Asset Management Team to maintain data relationships for IT assets across the ServiceNow platform.
Mentor junior team members and provide guidance, training, and documentation to support CMDB knowledge growth across the organization.
The Ideal Candidate for This Role:
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or seven years of equivalent experience.
5+ years of hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform, including deep expertise in CMDB and its role in supporting ITSM processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset Management.
Demonstrated experience managing CI data at enterprise scale, including CI lifecycle management, data quality programs, and governance frameworks.
Experience building and maintaining data relationships across the ServiceNow platform, including Business Applications, Technical Services, Business Services, Offerings, Assets, and Software Models, in alignment with the CSDM.
Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, or third-party data integrations (e.g., SCCM, SAMPro) as sources of CMDB population.
Experience defining, documenting, and implementing CMDB governance processes and procedures.
Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with management and technical staff at all levels.
Strong working knowledge of the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM), including Services, Offerings, and Application Service mapping.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
Preferred Qualifications
Strong organizational, analytic, and complex problem-solving skills.
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM or CMDB (CIS).
ITIL Foundation certified.
Strong working knowledge of the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM), including Services, Offerings, and Application Service mapping.
Highly effective speaking, listening, writing, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in a regulated industry (financial services, healthcare, etc.) with an understanding of compliance and audit requirements as they relate to CMDB data.
Compensation:
Compensation range (base pay): $89,828.00-$148,215.00
This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.
Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Work Environment:
It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week.
