The Senior Analyst, US Tax Operations supports Fortive’s US Tax Operations team with a primary focus on federal and state income tax, while working to continuously improve processes, data quality, and scalability through technology.

This role operates in a dynamic, acquisitive, and technology-enabled environment and the ideal candidate brings strong technical curiosity, a continuous-improvement mindset, and an excitement to learn and develop. This position reports to the Director, Federal and State Tax Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and review of Federal and State corporate tax filings and supporting workpapers.
  • Support the US income tax provision processes, including current and deferred taxes and related disclosures. 
  • Prepare federal and state income and franchise tax estimated payments and extensions.
  • Assist with tax audits and inquiries, including data collection, drafting responses, and coordinating resolutions with tax authorities.
  • Partner with operating companies on indirect tax matters, including sales and use tax, property tax, and business licenses.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes, automation, and data flows to support a growing and evolving business.
  • Develop and maintain standard work, process documentation, and knowledge sharing to support scalability, audit readiness, and team effectiveness.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master’s in Taxation and/or CPA preferred.
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in corporate and/or public accounting with a focus on corporate income tax.
  • Foundational understanding of US federal and state income and indirect tax principles.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience with Corptax, Alteryx, Power Platform, agentic AI, or similar automation tools.
  • Results-oriented, intellectually curious, collaborative, and improvement-focused mindset.
  • Passion for tax optimization and scalable solutions.
