Senior Total Rewards Analyst
We are currently seeking a Senior Total Rewards Analyst to join our team.
The Senior Total Rewards Analyst leads the design, development, implementation, communication and administration of total rewards programs, ensuring programs are administered in accordance with plan design and aligned with Tru Cooperative Bank’s (“the Cooperative Bank”) Total Rewards strategy. The Senior Analyst provides subject matter expertise, extensive knowledge and support on compensation related matters, escalating to leadership and/or HR business partners as required. This role may primarily focus on leading total rewards projects or complex work as assigned by their leader.
Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day
- Organizational Design: Works in collaboration and consultation with HR Business Partners and business leaders (as appropriate) in complex organizational design of a division and/or department. Acts as a subject matter expert in organizational design and effectively influences structural design.
- Job Evaluation: Completes more complex, higher level job evaluations on new or updated roles using established methodology. Reviews benchmark market data, recommends job classification and ensures applicable changes are applied to systems and incumbents. Assists HR Business Partners in the development of position profiles including providing feedback/input, editing verbiage for conformity to standards, reviewing job content for job leveling/grading, etc.
- Market Data & Surveys: Completes compensation and best practice benchmarking surveys; provides reports on compensation market trends through research and analysis of salary surveys and other research to ensure the Cooperative Bank’s competitive positioning and internal equity. Using market data, designs and recommends new salary range structure and applicable costing scenarios for Senior Manager and Director review.
- Incentive Plans: Participates in the design of incentive plans and works directly with business leaders. May calculate yearend incentive plans and/or executive incentives and ensures commissions are paid in accordance with plan provisions.
- Year-end Activities: Leads the annual compensation planning processes. Analyzes/costs scenarios, develops processes, tools, guidelines, drafts communications, etc. Provides guidance to HR Business Partners and people leaders as required. Conducts final review and audit of all companywide recommendations (e.g., calibration, merit increases). Ensures timely communication of approvals to leaders and team members.
- Analysis & Plan Design: Performs modeling and costing analysis; evaluates current and new total reward programs; recommends changes or enhancements in alignment with the total rewards guiding principles. Responsible for in-depth reporting and analysis of compensation-related data. Collaborates with Finance and leaders to monitor, audit, and evaluate incentive plans. Participates in analysis and updates to salary structure(s) and incentive plans.
- Projects: Leads the design, development, and implementation of variable compensation plans, recognition/reward programs, and other related initiatives. Conducts research, drafts content and communication materials for new/revised structures, programs or initiatives. Acts as the back up to the Senior Manager, Total Rewards in their absence.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field required
- Completion of Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) an asset
- 5 years progressive HR/compensation experience
- Experience conducting job evaluations and participating in evaluation meetings to present and defend recommendations and findings
- Participated in year-end activities such as merit, performance management, incentive calculations
- Familiar with unionized job evaluation processes and programs is an asset
- Multi-tasking; ability to prioritize and manage multiple timelines; ability to discern critical information; attention to detail is critical but not get caught up in details
