Overview

The Senior Valuation Analyst will perform valuation/financial reporting and analysis for Korea business. The role will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the financial forecasting infrastructure and analytic foundation by developing/maintaining actuarial models, assumptions and processes used not only for valuation, but also to support unbiased business planning, financial and analytical reporting, economic capital refinement, capital planning, cash flow testing, and other such uses. This role will provide general valuation, financial analysis, and relevant projects and studies.

Responsibilities

Financial reporting

  • Generate expected/ actual cashflows for quarterly closing

  • Develops, enhances, and maintains Valuation Projection Models

  • Generate Valuation model memo

  • Quarterly GAAP and local statutory financial/ solvency reporting 

  • Movement analysis on liabilities, inforce values and SOE (Source of earning) analysis

  • Any required reports from regulatory, auditors and management

Experience study

  • Responsible for handling data to support actuarial analyses.

  • Experience studies of mortality, morbidity, lapse

  • Generate valuation basis change memo

  • Experience monitoring and experience variance analysis

Performs other projects and/or duties as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 to 15 years of actuarial experience (valuation, experience studies, IFRS17 and K-ICS, etc.) in life and/or non-life insurance companies, with a strong preference for candidates with at least 5-7 years of relevant experience

  • Korea Qualified Actuary is preferred

  • Actuarial software experience (Prophet is preferred)

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both Korean and English

  • Proficient Excel and software skills including database applications are preferred (Python, Oracle, SQL, Macro)
