About the Department
Our Technology and ServiceNow team sits at the heart of delivering efficient, scalable and value-driven solutions across Aberdeen. Working closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, delivery teams and external partners, the team supports strategic transformation and continuous improvement initiatives. Through collaborative Agile ways of working, we enable smarter processes, stronger governance and enhanced services that help Aberdeen deliver on its purpose of enabling our clients to be better investors.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Scrum Master to join our Edinburgh-based team on a permanent basis. This is a pivotal role that combines business analysis expertise with Agile delivery leadership to drive change across a mature and evolving ServiceNow environment. You will act as the bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring priorities are clear, requirements are well defined and delivery teams are empowered to deliver high-quality outcomes. The role offers excellent exposure to senior stakeholders, strategic initiatives and platform innovation, making it an exciting opportunity to develop your career while making a measurable impact. Key Responsibilities
Partner with stakeholders to capture, analyse and refine business requirements, translating needs into user stories, features, epics and acceptance criteria.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, workshops and backlog refinement sessions that drive collaboration, transparency and delivery momentum.
Support Product Owners in shaping demand, prioritising work and maintaining a value-driven backlog aligned to business outcomes.
Remove delivery obstacles, manage dependencies and coordinate across teams, suppliers and stakeholders to enable successful change delivery.
Support testing, business readiness and solution validation activities to ensure outcomes meet agreed requirements and objectives.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and innovation through effective use of ServiceNow capabilities.
About the Candidate - Essential skills
Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Agile technology delivery environments.
Experience working with ServiceNow and a strong understanding of core platform capabilities.
Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills.
Experience managing backlogs, requirements and priorities using Azure DevOps, Jira or similar tools.
Ability to manage risks, dependencies and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
ServiceNow certifications
Experience in complex ServiceNow environments,
Working with third-party or offshore teams,
Professional certifications such as CBAP, BCS Business Analysis, PSM, CSM, AgilePM or SAFe.
