This opportunity is to join one of our major telecommunications clients, supporting a large-scale Security Operations Centre responsible for protecting critical enterprise environments.



The Opportunity

Contract: 12 months fixed-term contract

Hybrid, rotating shift roster including nights and overtime

Must be an Australian Citizen. Candidate does not need to hold a current security clearance, but must be eligible to obtain one if required.


We’re looking for a SOC Analyst L1 with hands-on security operations experience to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Working as part of a 24/7 Security Operations Centre, you’ll monitor, triage and respond to security events across enterprise customer environments. You’ll collaborate with experienced cyber professionals, follow established incident response processes, and contribute to continuously improving detection capabilities.

This role is ideal for someone looking to build their SOC career while working on a large enterprise environment with one of Australia’s leading telecommunications organisations.



What you'll do

  • Monitor security events and alerts across enterprise customer environments, triaging and escalating in line with SOC procedures.
  • Investigate and respond to detections, applying whitelisting and tuning changes where appropriate.
  • Support log review and reporting activities.
  • Maintain and follow version-controlled playbooks, scripts and detection content using Git.
  • Work rotating shifts, including night shifts and overtime, to provide continuous SOC coverage.
  • Escalate incidents to L2/L3 analysts and follow incident response and handover procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of detection logic and SOC processes.



What you'll bring

  • Previous experience as a SOC Analyst (L1) or in a similar security monitoring role.
  • Familiarity with SIEM concepts, log analysis and alert triage.
  • Comfortable using Git or similar version control tools.
  • Experience with ClickHouse and Palo Alto XSOAR is highly regarded.
  • Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and overtime.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
