AEITS, Inc., a GTSC company, is growing its team! Seeking a Software Engineering Requirements Analyst, Level 2 or 3, depending on experience

~~~ The formal job title is Software Engineer, Level 2 or Level 3.

 

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

All work is on-site. This is not a hybrid or remote position.

 

Mission: Analyze customer requirements, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and system architectures to develop complete system requirements and specifications.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Proactive Requirements Analyst to develop complete system requirements and specifications.
  • Would like the person to be technical but not required.
  • MUST know JIRA/CONFLUENCE.
  • COOP experience a plus.

 

Position Description:

  • Analyze customer requirements, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and system architectures to develop complete system requirements and specifications.
  • Lead or support systems engineering activities throughout the system development lifecycle.
  • Develop, analyze, allocate, and manage system and derived requirements.
  • Produce and maintain systems engineering documentation, including:
    • Systems Engineering Plans (SEP)
    • Requirements Specifications
    • Initial Capability Documents (ICD)
    • Interface Control Documents (ICD)
    • System Architecture documentation
    • System Integration and Test Plans
  • Develop system architectures using Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and other applicable standards.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) supporting system design, integration, and implementation.
  • Develop system concepts, physical architectures, and design alternatives.
  • Allocate functional requirements across hardware, software, facilities, and personnel components.
  • Support interface definition, interface control, and configuration management activities.
  • Participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCB), design reviews, program reviews, and technical reviews.
  • Develop verification and validation strategies and support system integration and testing.
  • Perform technical assessments, trade studies, and risk analyses.
  • Establish and maintain requirements traceability throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Support Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity requirements development.
  • Develop operational concepts, system scenarios, and end-to-end workflow analyses.
  • Support Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) documentation and DoD Certification & Accreditation (C&A) activities.
  • Provide technical guidance to development teams and ensure engineering products meet customer and program requirements.
  • Communicate technical status, risks, and recommendations to government customers and program leadership.

 

Level 3 Job Description, Additional Duties:

  • Lead systems engineering efforts across large, complex programs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct multi-disciplinary systems engineering activities.
  • Serve as a technical lead for system architecture, integration, and engineering strategy.
  • Conduct system trade studies and recommend optimal technical solutions.
  • Utilize modeling, simulation, and prototyping techniques to reduce program risk.
  • Develop lifecycle engineering strategies considering cost, performance, scalability, and future growth.
  • Monitor technical risks using Earned Value Management (EVM) and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies, industry standards, and government engineering guidance.
  • Lead configuration management activities and serve as a member of the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across engineering teams.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

Skill Level 2

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Fourteen (14) years of Systems Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • An additional five (5) years of Systems Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

Skill Level 3

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Twenty (20) years of Systems Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
  • An additional five (5) years of Systems Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

 

Desired Knowledge & Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is highly desired:

  • Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
  • Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Requirements management and traceability
  • Systems integration and verification
  • Configuration Management and CCB processes
  • Risk Management
  • Interface Control Documentation
  • Information Assurance and Cybersecurity Engineering
  • JCIDS
  • DoD Certification & Accreditation processes
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) (preferred)
  • Systems lifecycle engineering methodologies
