Confers with suppliers and analyses suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. •Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follow up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. •May also be responsible for some material planning, depending on the needs of the operation. Assignments are received in task-oriented terms. •Communicates with Division GSM & Category Management team. •Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall quality and efficiency. •Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees. •Administers and executes material and service contracts with suppliers. •Accomplishes tasks mainly through direct supervision employees. Monitors daily operations of a unit and actively assists, or provides direction to, subordinates as required. •May perform, especially in staff or professional groups, ongoing operational tasks of organizational units. Ensures that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules. •Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to achieve results might cause delays in program schedules and result in the allocation of more resources. •Majority of coordination is on internal basis with subordinates and supervisors at equivalent level or one level higher. Required Experience (what does the person need to have “done”): • Proficiency in: • Excel (advanced) • Procurement analytics tools • Spend analysis platforms • Familiarity with compliance and ethical sourcing standards • Continuous improvement mindset • Innovation-driven thinking • Long-term supplier partnership focus • Knowledge of plastic molding tools & process will be added advantage Required Knowledge & Abilities (what does the person need to “know” / degree / etc.): • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree from a reputed university • Experience in global sourcing and international suppliers • Knowledge of sustainability and responsible sourcing • Six Sigma / Lean experience Soft Skills & Leadership • Strong communication and presentation skills • Leadership and team development • Change management capability • Ability to work in a matrixed, global organization • Strategic thinking with hands-on execution
