Job Summary The Sr Software Engineer position will code, test, and document software solutions and perform tests to validate the code.  This role will write more progressively complex code and work to independently solve problems and fix technical issues.  This role will be in lead capacity with other developers through required feature updates, code management, and requirement implementation. The ideal candidate will have a desire to grow into a Lead Software Engineer role. Duties & Responsibilities <ul> <li>Design, code, test, and document software solutions that are high performing and intuitive, adhering to F&G’s software development methodologies, frameworks, standards, and security requirements</li> <li>Perform unit, regression, security, and load tests to validate the readiness of internally and externally developed code for production as required</li> <li>Design and develop complex integrations.</li> <li>Perform impact analysis for interface/system changes affecting the applications environment</li> <li>Develop estimates for project and maintenance work</li> <li>Design integrations for custom or 3rd-party solutions</li> <li>Assist with the design of architecture and solutions</li> <li>Translate undefined business problems and defined business objectives and goals into functional solutions</li> <li>Design with assistance within architectural standards</li> <li>Lead technical aspects of one or more applications within the function</li> <li>Technical ownership of one or more business facing technologies to deliver business outcomes</li> <li>Interact with clients and stakeholders</li> <li>Support and interact with various IT teams and LOBs on integration efforts</li> </ul> Experience & Education Requirements <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree (preferred emphasis in Computer Science or MIS) or equivalent combination of education and experience </li> <li>4-7 years of hands-on technical experience in designing and building applications and interfaces</li> <li>Experience in developing Angular, .NET development, and Azure cloud solutions</li> <li>Ability to design and implement a normalized relational database schema</li> <li>Experience with various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)</li> <li>Significant experience working with various integration tools</li> <li>Significant experience working with cloud  </li> <li>Expert understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)</li> <li>Azure or AWS cloud development tools (functions, Lambdas)</li> </ul> Preferred Requirements <ul> <li>Experience supporting integrations</li> <li>Experience with insurance industry</li> <li>Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate and Power Apps, is highly desired</li> <li>Accord XML</li> <li>Rest API</li> </ul> Knowledge, Skills & Abilities <ul> <li>Self-starter with a high energy level and willingness to take on responsibility</li> <li>Proven verbal, written communication, and conflict resolution skills</li> <li>Excellent ability to think analytically and solve problems</li> <li>Ability to work in a dynamic environment</li> <li>Ability to create technical documentation</li> <li>Ability to develop good relationships with vendors and their technical resources</li> <li>Ability to create strong, collaborative relationships with business partners</li> <li>Ability to lead and mentor others</li> <li>Ability to maintain a technical vision and roadmap</li> <li>Ability to act as a project lead within an initiative including task identification, design, testing, implementation, tracking, reporting, and status updates to management</li> </ul> Other Requirements <ul> <li>Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned</li> <li>Regular and punctual attendance</li> <li>Some travel may be required (less than 10%)</li> </ul> #LI-Remote #LI-MB1<div class="content-conclusion"><h3>Additional Information </h3> Work Environments F&G believes in an employee-centric flexible environment, which is why we offer the ability for in-office, hybrid and remote work arrangements.
