Your role and tasks
Are you curious about venture investments, technology trends and the future of electrification? We are looking for a Student Analyst to join our Electrification Ventures team. In this role, you will work alongside our investment team across the full venture investment cycle - from sourcing and screening startups to due diligence, valuation, investment proposals and portfolio management. You will be given significant responsibility from the outset and work directly on live investment opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Participate in due diligence of potential investments with special focus on financial valuations and business plan evaluations for technology companies.
- Identify and assess investment opportunities based on our investment themes and strategic priorities.
- Support preparation of investment proposals and collaboration with relevant businesses to explore interest and strategic fit.
- Support portfolio monitoring, quarterly reporting and valuation of existing investments.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies, markets and investment themes relevant to the future of electrification.
- Contribute to ad-hoc and cross-functional projects relating to Electrification Ventures.
Qualifications for the role
- In the first year of a master’s degree or in the process of completing a bachelor’s degree in business or engineering from a leading institution with top results in relevant subjects.
- Relevant experience from student positions or internships, preferably in corporate development/venturing, VC funds, M&A, consultancy, tech startups or similar.
- Strong financial and analytical skills; experience with financial modelling, valuation or business plan analysis is an advantage.
- Interest in the journey of electrifying the world through technology and innovation.
- Creative, energetic, self-motivated, flexible team player with an ability to work independently and solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross-cultural teams and to engage with global colleagues.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Danish is not required.
- Ability to work 15-20h per week with flexibility around exam periods and other responsibilities.
What you can expect
You will join an international investment team and get hands-on exposure to venture capital and corporate venture investing. You will work on live investment opportunities, interact with technology companies, and collaborate with senior colleagues across ABB's global Electrification businesses. We aim to give our Student Analysts significant responsibility and a steep learning curve from the outset.

You will work from an office in central Copenhagen at Matrikel 1, a community for start-ups and investors, where your manager and another colleague are also based. We also offer flexibility and the possibility of working from home when relevant to your studies and responsibilities.
