As a Systems Analyst – Workforce Services you will be part of a close-knit team responsible for the analysis and development of applications that optimise the planning of flight and cabin crew schedules and rosters across the Qantas Group. 

You’ll be working with a domain-specific language (RAVE) and Python to solve complex problems in planning and scheduling. Collaborating with internal and external partners, you will work to find optimal solutions that encompass employee agreements, compliance rules and business improvement initiatives. 

To join our dynamic team, you’ll have: 

  • 3+ years of experience in a software development role
  • Degree in a logical and/or analytical discipline such as Software development, IT, or Aviation 
  • Expertise in Python scripting or other programming languages (e.g. Java, C++, C# etc.)
  • Knowledge of industry standards for object-oriented programming
  • Working knowledge of analysis, design, construction and implementation process
  • Ability to effectively translate complex business ideas and requirements to specifications
  • Ability to effectively communicate with peers, support groups and clients and influence outcomes
  • Effective and succinct oral and written communication and business writing skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and be self-motivated 
  • Detailed knowledge of crew planning systems, including Manpower Planning, Pairing and Rostering is desirable
  • Previous experience in Jeppesen RAVE programming language is desirable
