The Team The FUSE (Foundational User Experience) team's mission is to empower our product teams by providing a unified, efficient, and high-quality front-end ecosystem. We do this by owning and evolving the core UI/UX infrastructure, including our design system and component libraries, to create a framework enabling rapid development. We're looking for a visionary Team Lead Software Engineer to join our growing team at Capital on Tap. This isn't your average front-end role; you'll be at the heart of empowering our entire engineering department, both internally and externally. What You’ll Be Doing As an Engineering Team Lead, you’ll lead a small team of engineers while remaining hands-on in software development. You’ll ensure structured planning, development, and mentorship, working closely with Technical Leaders, Product Managers, and the Engineering Manager to drive successful project delivery. <ul> <li>Provide mentorship, constructive feedback, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement</li> <li>Motivate the team, remove blockers, and track performance to ensure accountability</li> <li>Work closely with Product, QA, and Technical Leaders to align on strategy and execution</li> <li>Shape product decisions alongside Product Managers and Designers</li> <li>Ensure clear, open communication in remote, hybrid, and in-person settings</li> <li>Establish and uphold coding standards and best practices</li> <li>Identify and mitigate risks, addressing challenges proactively</li> <li>Stay hands-on in software development, guiding engineers at a technical level</li> <li>Work with Technical Leaders to ensure alignment on technical direction and innovation</li> </ul> We’re Looking For 🔎 <ul> <li>Proven experience managing and developing software engineers</li> <li>Extensive commercial experience in one of the following:</li> </ul> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>TypeScript and React, with a strong focus on modern web development, or</li> <li>Dart and Flutter</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Experience building and maintaining design system components (tokens, UI libraries, accessibility standards) to ensure consistent, scalable and elegant frontend experiences.</li> <li>Proficient in SQL and Test-Driven Development (TDD)</li> <li>Strong technical background in modern software development practices and scalable system architecture</li> <li>Ability to manage cross-functional projects, collaborating effectively with Product, QA, and other stakeholders</li> <li>Experience with C# /.Net would be beneficial but is not a requirement</li> </ul> Diversity & Inclusion 🌈 We welcome, consider and encourage applications from anyone who shares our commitment to inclusivity.
