The Business Intelligence (BI) Team Leader is responsible for leading the development and delivery of data-driven insights to support both operational and strategic decision-making across the organization. The role ensures strong data governance, high-quality reporting, and proactive analytics that drive business efficiency, performance, profitability, and growth.
Specific Duties1. BI Strategy & Leadership
Define and implement the BI strategy aligned with business priorities
Lead and develop the BI team (analysts and business partners)
Establish governance, standards, and best practices for data and reporting
Act as the primary point of contact between regional and global BI teams
2. Business Partnering
Partner closely with key functions:
Commercial (sales, pricing)
Technical (customer product performance)
Internal Operations
Finance, Marketing, and Planning
Translate business needs into actionable insights and analytics solutions
Ensure BI support is embedded in decision-making processes
3. Data & Analytics Delivery
Oversee development of dashboards, reports, and KPIs using data generated through / linked to Aviagen systems where possible
Ensure timely and accurate reporting (sales, forecasts, market data, financials, etc.)
Deliver advanced analytics including:
Forecasting
Product performance
Market and competitor analysis
Profitability and performance analysis
Drive proactive insights to identify risks and opportunities early
4. Data Governance & Systems
Establish strong data governance frameworks and data quality standards
Ensure integration across systems and improve data accessibility
Collaborate with IT and global teams on system improvements and tools
Reduce duplication and improve data consistency across functions
Coordinate implementation of Aviagen systems/software in regional entities in liaison with Global BI/IT teams.
5. Performance & Continuous Improvement
Identify gaps in current BI capabilities and drive improvements
Support key decisions such as:
Market and product strategies
Investment opportunities
Customer profitability and collections
Improve business performance through actionable insights
Promote a data-driven culture across the organization
Staff Management: Manages data group
Financial Management: No direct financial responsibility
Travel: Occasional travel may be needed
Location: Flexible based on candidate location in TMEA or Europe
Personal Requirements for the RoleSpecific Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Finance, Engineering or related field
7–10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence / Analytics
Proven experience in team leadership
Strong experience with BI tools (e.g., Qlik, Power BI, Tableau)
Experience with data modeling, SQL, and analytics tools
Strong business acumen (commercial, financial, operational understanding)
