Trade Lifecycle Analyst

As a Derivative Operations Documentation Analyst in Market Operations, you draft and review derivative trade confirmations, resolve documentation breaks, and help improve processes and controls. You partner closely with trading, sales, middle office, legal, and client service teams to ensure confirmations are accurate, timely, and aligned to market standards. You contribute to a collaborative team culture where attention to detail and continuous improvement are valued.
Job responsibilities
- Draft structured confirmations using internal trade and risk management systems and term sheets
- Interpret structured product terms and apply required legal documentation (including long-form confirmations and related supplements)
- Validate economic and financial details for accuracy and consistency with captured trade data
- Review documentation language to ensure alignment with market standards and internal policies
- Manage a workflow queue, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet time-sensitive allocation and completion targets
- Investigate exceptions, breaks, and disputes, and drive issues through to resolution within defined standards
- Identify process gaps and control weaknesses, and propose practical improvements to reduce risk and rework
- Partner with middle office and trading support teams to address booking quality and prevent repeat issues
- Build strong working relationships with trading, sales, legal, operations partners, and client service teams
- Produce and monitor daily and weekly management information to track volume, timeliness, and exception themes
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience drafting and/or reviewing derivative confirmations and related documentation
- Understanding of structured products and how trade economics translate into confirmation terms
- Demonstrated ability to verify detailed financial terms with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage a task queue, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured documentation
- Strong partnership skills and ability to collaborate across trading, sales, operations, legal, and client-facing teams
- Demonstrated issue ownership, including investigation, escalation, and closure of documentation exceptions
- Ability to identify control or process weaknesses and recommend improvements grounded in data or observed trends
- Proficiency using trade processing and documentation workflows and tools (or ability to learn quickly)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) documentation concepts and market documentation standards
- Experience supporting confirmations for complex or structured derivatives
- Experience coaching stakeholders on booking quality and downstream documentation impacts
- Experience producing management information and using metrics to identify bottlenecks and recurring issues
- Familiarity with operating in a controlled environment with audit, compliance, and legal requirements
- Experience working across time-sensitive workflows with multiple stakeholders and handoffs
