Job Description

The Workday Functional Analyst is responsible for the configuration, support, and continuous improvement of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions. This role partners closely with HR Operations, Global Process Owner (GPO), the PMO, and HR Technology and Analytics team members to analyze business requirements, configure Workday solutions, and support enterprise initiatives.

The ideal candidate possesses strong functional knowledge of Workday Core HCM and business processes, along with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable and effective system solutions.

Workday Configuration & Support

  • Configure and maintain Workday Core HCM functionality, including Business Processes, Organizational Structures, Supervisory Organizations, Job Profiles, Staffing Models, Custom Reports, and Calculated Fields.
  • Analyze business requirements and recommend solutions aligned with Workday best practices.
  • Support testing activities, including unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and resolve process and configuration defects.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner with HR Operations, Global Process Owners (GPOs), PMO resources, and HR leaders to support business priorities and initiatives.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Translate requirements into functional system configurations and solution designs.
  • Advise stakeholders on Workday functionality, standard processes, and configuration options.
  • Support organizational change management and adoption activities.

Security Administration

  • Support Workday security configuration and user access administration.
  • Assist with security troubleshooting and access reviews.
  • Partner with governance and compliance stakeholders to maintain appropriate system access controls.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in Workday releases and evaluate new functionality.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve user experience, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Maintain system documentation and configuration records.
  • Support governance, change management, and enhancement processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of Workday functional experience.
  • Hands-on configuration experience in Workday Core HCM.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into system solutions.
  • Strong understanding of HR business processes and organizational structures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting testing and deployment activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday Security.
  • Experience supporting HR Operations processes.
  • Experience working with Global Process Owners and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience in a global Workday environment.
  • Workday Pro certifications.
